Project Controls Associate Director

We are looking for a driven and capable Project Controls Associate Director to support us with the development of multiple Data Center projects for one of the top technology clients in the world. This is a client-facing role. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, cost, and risk control functions of large-scale construction projects. You will support the Project Controls Director in ensuring consistent implementation of project control systems, reporting standards, and performance metrics across multiple projects and regions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with the client and project teams, communicating effectively with both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
• Support the Project Controls Director in leading and coordinating project controls activities across multiple data center projects.
• Prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations and reports for executive-level management, summarizing project status, performance metrics, and recommendations.
• Review project plans, schedules, and cost baselines to ensure alignment with client standards and contractual requirements.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), CPM schedules, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
• Support the implementation and management of resource and cost-loaded schedules, ensuring consistent reporting across projects.
• Conduct high-level analyses of resource utilization, cost trends, and schedule performance to identify potential risks and optimization opportunities.
• Review consultants’, contractors’, and vendors’ project controls deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Track and report schedule performance, including changes, delays, or accelerations, and develop corrective action plans when needed.
• Oversee the development and use of Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to monitor and report on project performance.
• Identify and assess program-level risks and assist in the development of mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Perform schedule and cost “what-if” and delay analyses as required to support project decision-making.
• Serve as a key liaison between Decima, the client, and project teams on all project controls matters.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Project Controls Managers and Coordinators.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of construction project controls experience.
• Fluency in English is a must.
• Experience in vertical construction is a must (Data Centers, Hotels, Hospitals, Mixed-Use Buildings, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of project controls systems, including cost, schedule, and risk management.
• High proficiency in Primavera P6, including baseline development, resource and cost loading, and performance reporting.
• Proven experience in preparing executive-level reports and presentations (e.g., dashboards, progress curves, critical path reports).
• Demonstrated success in client-facing and leadership roles.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both client and contractor teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Data Center construction experience.
• Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
• PSP or PMI-SP certification.
• Active membership in PMI, AACEi, or similar professional organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
