The Role
The Core API PM will be responsible for setting and driving the roadmap for the Gemini API, ensuring we have the world's best developer experience. This includes areas such as our SDK, Batch API, Embedding API, our base “GenerateContent” API which powers millions of developers, our core tools like Search, Code Execution, and more. A key focus will be ensuring a best-in-class developer experience in collaboration with researchers, our new capabilities API team, and the AI Studio product team.
Key responsibilities:
- Define, prioritize, and articulate API features and enhancements based on market needs, developer feedback, and business goals.
- Collaborate with key teams, including Google Cloud and Google DeepMind Researchers, to ensure that the API and SDK are built to support our diverse customer personas and evolving use cases.
- Partner with developers and startups to ensure that API features enable them to rapidly and effortlessly scale up with our models
- Partner closely with our developer relations and developer experience team to ensure we make a great API experience
- Partner with the broader Gemini ecosystem to identify how new features and capabilities being developed should look like with best in class developer experience in mind
- Engage with our GTM team to drive adoption and usage of our APIs and models
About You
In order to set you up for success as a Product Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- 4+ years of product management experience or similar
- Track record of designing, building, and launching developer products
- Experience building SDKs for developers
- Experience writing code in Python, Javascript, etc
- Experience building software with AI tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Replit, Copilot, etc
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
- 2+ years of experience as a software engineering / developer
- Experience building AI centric developer products
- An abundance of developer empathy
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $132,000 - $189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
