The role
We are looking for a Research Scientist to join our team in NYC. The team partners with the Gemini team and the global Google DeepMind research teams from experimental research, tackling everything from experimental research and large-scale engineering challenges to translating research into applications and products.
As a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, you will work directly on our efforts in developing novel algorithmic architecture towards the end goal of solving and building Artificial General Intelligence.
Having pioneered research in the world's leading academic and industrial labs in PhDs, post-docs or professorships, Research Scientists join Google DeepMind to work collaboratively within and across research fields. They develop solutions to fundamental questions in machine learning, computational neuroscience and AI.
Drawing on expertise from a variety of disciplines—including deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, language, neuroscience, safety, control, robotics, and multi-agent systems—our Research Scientists are at the forefront of groundbreaking research.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate models, agents, and software prototypes.
- Study current weaknesses in agent capabilities and research ways to improve them.
- Report and present research findings and developments, including status and results, clearly and efficiently both internally and externally.
- Suggest and participate in team collaborations to meet ambitious research goals.
- Collaborate across teams at Google DeepMind to pursue shared research goals.
- Work with external collaborators and maintain relationships with relevant research labs and key individuals as appropriate.
About you:
In order to set you up for success as a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- PhD in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
- PhD in machine learning or computer science.
- Relevant experience, such as post-doctoral roles, a proven track record of publications, or deep neural network architectures.
- A passion for AI.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between 141,000 USD - 202,000 USD + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
