The Role

This is an opportunity to join DeepMind’s Gemini App team where you will define and lead the product vision for how users interact with AI, strategically integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities amidst a rapidly evolving technological landscape. This role requires someone who is comfortable driving innovation in a space where foundational AI technologies and user needs are co-evolving rapidly. As a Product Manager focused on Personalization, you'll lead the development of the next generation AI assistant which deeply understands and supports individual user needs and ambitions, building on top of Google’s state-of-the-art Gemini models. 

Personalization is a top priority for the company, and we aim to build and launch personalized features across the Gemini App surfaces including web, mobile, and Live. We also plan to develop new personalization-related capabilities, including understanding and contextualizing relevant personal information, to transform how users interact with Gemini and evolving it into a truly personal assistant that gets to know users over time. A PM on the Gemini App personalization team will be involved in all aspects of this vision - defining the overall user experience for a personalized Gemini, driving the technical architecture of the product, leading model evals and quality, and driving partner alignment across Google product areas.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define and champion a clear product vision, roadmap, and strategic plan for personalizing the Gemini App, effectively integrating emerging AI technologies and ensuring alignment with organizational mission and evolving user needs.
  • Develop and prioritize product requirements by synthesizing user feedback, UX research, rigorous AI model performance metrics, market trends, and competitive analysis.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams (Engineering, Research, UX, Legal, etc.) to design, implement, and launch innovative personalization features.
  • Own and drive go-to-market strategies for new personalization features and products, including strategic positioning, market understanding, and impactful messaging.
  • Own and drive the development of robust evaluation methods and success metrics for personalization, converting performance insights into impactful product enhancements.
  • Use quality-driven insights to prioritize product improvements and set up a framework for expanding personalization to additional Gemini App capabilities and surfaces.

About You

In order to set you up for success as a Product Manager at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Demonstrable, extensive technical knowledge and hands-on product experience with advanced AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Proven experience in designing, managing, and continuously refining rigorous evaluation methods and success metrics for AI models and AI-powered products.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive complex product initiatives forward in ambiguous and rapidly evolving AI contexts.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, legal, marketing and other stakeholders to deliver successful products.
  • Proven ability to prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations to senior leadership.

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • Experience in building personalized consumer products
  • Hands-on experience in software development or engineering.
  • Experience in proactively identifying ethical risks in AI system
  • Experience working on legal or policy issues related to technology products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $183,000 USD - 271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
