We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our team and help us share the story of our frontier AI research. In this role, you'll be responsible for communicating our breakthroughs in areas like deep learning, reinforcement learning, and AI for science. You'll work closely with our researchers and engineers to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with a wide range of audiences, from the scientific community to the general public.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication strategies for our frontier AI research, as well as our work in AI for science.
  • Work closely with our research teams to identify compelling stories and translate technical breakthroughs into clear, accessible language.
  • Create a wide range of content, including blog posts, press releases, presentations, and social media updates.
  • Manage media relations and build relationships with key journalists and influencers in the tech and science communities.
  • Collaborate with our policy, ethics, and social impact teams to ensure our communications are responsible and aligned with our mission.
  • Track and measure the impact of our communications efforts and use data to inform our strategy.

About You

We're looking for a creative and strategic communicator with a passion for science and technology. You're a natural storyteller who can take complex ideas and make them engaging and understandable for a broad audience. You're also a collaborative team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a communications role focused on AI research or a related technical field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling narratives.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A deep understanding of the media landscape and experience working with journalists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced research environment.
  • A background in science communications or a related field.
  • Experience with multimedia content creation, such as video or podcasts.
  • A strong network of contacts in the tech and science media.
