Tech Strategy Product Manager, Google DeepMind

Mountain View, California, US

Snapshot

Support the analytical and operational frameworks that enable Leadership (SVP+) decision forums to govern compute utilization and planning. You will be responsible for translating complex data into the strategic insights that align DeepMind and Google’s broader AI strategy.

About Us

Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. At Google DeepMind, we’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigative Modeling: Conduct rigorous, deep-dive investigations into Google’s hardest long-range strategic questions, providing the data-driven clarity needed for executive decision-making.
  • Scenario Architecture: Model complex scenarios and trade-offs to surface opinionated strategies for maximizing AI value across Google.
  • SVP+ Content Support: Contribute to the development of high-stakes presentations, communications, and mandates for SVP-level forums, ensuring technical accuracy and narrative flow.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a bridge between technical teams and strategy, partnering with virtual teams across Google to ensure product and policy plans are grounded in reality.
  • Execution & Monitoring: Help maintain per-mandate monitoring views to keep programs accountable; collaborate with MLSA to ensure company-wide mandates are organized and delivering on goals.
  • Strategic Cataloging: Maintain a "living catalog" of ongoing experiments and proposed innovations across Google to identify topics worthy of senior executive discussion.

About You

You are a Product Manager who thrives in high-velocity, high-intensity environments where the stakes are massive and the pace is relentless. You are an execution-oriented IC who can quickly create "something out of nothing," iterate based on feedback from senior leaders, and move immediately to the next challenge.

This role is for you if:

  • You demonstrate the analytical rigor and strategic curiosity required to sustain a high level of performance across complex, pan-Google workstreams—pairing a 'big picture' perspective with the ability to remain precise and detail-oriented at the speed of an SVP-led forum.
  • You are a master of execution—you don't just point at problems; you build the models (often joining together disparate data sources from multiple teams) and write the documents that solve them.
  • You are an expert at synthesis, possessing the communication skills to distill complex "noise" into actionable "signal" for executive audiences, delivering elite-level work even under the most demanding deadlines.

Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical and/or business area.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, management consulting, or a high-growth corporate strategy role.
  • Exceptional organizational talent and experience running high-velocity, high-impact programs.
  • Strong analytical fluency: Deep experience in a role that deals with machine learning, compute infrastructure, or large-scale data modeling.
  • Innovative problem solver who can turn ambiguous, messy problem spaces into clear, executable solutions.

In addition, the following would be an advantage:

  • Familiarity with the role of compute and data in building LLMs and the technical capabilities of these models.
  • A proven track record of "managing up" and supporting senior stakeholders in a complex, matrixed business environment.
  • Experience in corporate planning or product operations within a major tech ecosystem.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent, highly complex workstreams with minimal friction.
  • A "bias towards action" and a history of creative problem-solving in fast-paced settings.

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
