We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.

The Role

You will lead the team responsible for building and growing the Gemini app on iOS. You are a product-minded leader passionate about defining how people interact with AI on a global scale. You excel at leading teams to build high-quality native applications and thrive in the ambiguity of building novel UIs for emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • iOS Platform Stewardship: Act as the "Guardian" of the iOS app, setting the long-term technical roadmap and balancing rapid feature delivery with relentless modernization and technical debt reduction.
  • Architectural Excellence: Lead the shift toward modular UI componentization and robust foundations to drive developer velocity, code reuse, and platform consistency across the Gemini ecosystem.
  • UI/UX Innovation: Drive the implementation of novel, experimental UI patterns and high-performance interactions that define the next generation of AI-human engagement on mobile.
  • Technical Leadership & Delivery: Direct the day-to-day execution of a high-tempo engineering team, unblocking complex technical challenges and ensuring the timely launch of performant, high-quality features.
  • Strategic Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the primary technical partner for Product, UX, and Backend teams, influencing server-side infrastructure and translating ambiguous product goals into actionable technical strategies.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a technical lead and/or engineering manager with a track record of supporting and leading high-performing mobile engineering teams.
  • Extensive professional experience and expert-level proficiency in native iOS mobile development, with a history of shipping complex, user-facing applications at scale.
  • Experience leading the delivery of large-scale technical projects, defining team roadmaps, and making critical architectural decisions in collaboration with product and UX partners.
  • A passion for developing engineers, with direct experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing performance and career growth.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of representing the team and driving alignment with senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

About You

You are a seasoned IOS leader who thinks at a system-level, consistently navigating ambiguity to deliver elegant and robust solutions. Your influence extends beyond yourself; you elevate the skills of the engineers around you through mentorship and by championing technical excellence. You have a product-driven mindset and a passion for craftsmanship, with a history of leading the architecture of successful mobile apps. While you are an expert in native mobile development, you also possess a strong command of the server-side, enabling you to design and build the supporting infrastructure that unlocks powerful client-side features. Familiarity with ML systems and LLM concepts is a plus but not required.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
