SkillBridge Intern - Product Manager

United States - Remote

Role Description: 

As a Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our innovative platform designed for military personnel and defense contractors. You will own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and implementation, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and company objectives. This role requires a unique blend of collaboration across business segments, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of secure development environments and Department of Defense security requirements. You will be responsible for facilitating a cross-functional team of engineering, design, and marketing experts to deliver a platform that enhances development efficiency, operational security, and innovation in mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute team product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for implementation of a cohesive architecture and integration of development tools 
  • Work closely with a Product Designer to architect and design an intuitive platform that meets the unique needs of military personnel and contractors
  • Prioritize and manage the product roadmap, balancing customer, business, and technical priorities while synthesizing external customer requests into actionable features and backlogs
  • Measure and assess the impact of product solutions through key performance indicators (KPIs), including adoption rates, user engagement metrics, and development efficiency improvements
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to secure development environments and Department of Defense software development requirements, ensuring our platform meets evolving needs and compliance standards
  • Present product updates and strategic insights in customer-facing engagements, ensuring clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, remote working environment, demonstrating high levels of discipline, self-motivation, and adaptability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Enough technical breadth to work with engineering and design to trade off roadmap versus engineering effort needed

 

The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the evolving needs of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is able to adapt and take on new responsibilities as they arise. 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the DoD software ecosystem, to include organizations such as Platform One, Kessel Run, Army Software Factory, Space CAMP, Kobayashi Maru, NavalX, BESPIN, LevelUP, etc
  • Within 180 days of separation from service
  • Experience establishing a product roadmap with themes, a team charter, measurable outcomes in the form of OKRs/KPIs to track success, design docs
  • Experience leading products from ideation to operations, with a preference on secure development environments or internal developer platforms
  • Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and thrive in a remote work setup
  • Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in developer platform development, such as supply chain security, open source development, and internal developer platforms.
