About the Role:

The R&D Operations Specialist at Demandbase ensures operational excellence and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Acting as a critical support system, the team enables product managers, engineers, and designers to focus on building successful products while analyzing and surfacing data, streamlining tools & processes, and fostering cross-functional alignment.

What you'll be doing:

Data-Driven Insights

  • Developing Advanced Analytics: The team builds advanced analytics models to track product performance, forecast trends, and identify opportunities or risks, ensuring decisions are backed by data.
  • Actionable Experimentation: R&D Operations Team supports product teams in designing and executing experiments that yield clear, actionable data, guiding iterative product development and innovation .

Ownership of Product Analytics

  • Tool Integration & Maintenance: The team integrates and maintains product analytics tools, automating data collection to provide seamless access to key metrics across teams.
  • Training & Support: R&D Operations Team provides training to ensure teams effectively interpret data and apply insights to enhance product strategy and execution.

Enabling OKRs and KR Measurement

  • Facilitating OKR Creation: The R&D Operations Team collaborates with product managers to create clear, actionable OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) aligned with business goals. This process helps product teams prioritize initiatives and focus on what matters most.
  • Measuring Key Results (KRs): By providing tools and frameworks to track Key Results (KRs), the team ensures that progress toward objectives is measurable and transparent, helping teams stay on track.

Cross-functional Collaboration on Metrics

  • Designing Custom Metrics: Working with product, design, and engineering teams, the R&D Operations Team team develops custom metrics to track the success of specific initiatives, ensuring data is tailored to each team’s needs.
  • Facilitating Feedback Loops: The team establishes feedback loops across departments to ensure data and insights are integrated into ongoing product development efforts, driving continuous improvement.

Tool and Process Management

  • Vendor Management: R&D Operations Team oversees vendor relationships for product tools, ensuring cost-efficiency and proper integration into existing workflows.
  • Establishing Best Practices: They create and update best practices for tool usage and process management, ensuring consistency and optimizing workflows across product teams.

Impact on the Organization:

By driving data literacy, and streamlining tools & processes, the R&D Operations Team ensures Demandbase’s product teams are empowered to make data-driven decisions and achieve strategic goals efficiently.
