
Salary Cap Intern

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Football Admin & Strategy Coordinator with contract and compliance related administrative tasks along with required paperwork to remain in contract compliance with the league
- Perform research related to market forecasting, player valuation, resource allocation, risk management and any other matter that helps the Football Admin & Strategy Coordinator and VP of Football Admin with salary cap management and contract negotiations
- Assist the Football Admin & Strategy Coordinator and VP of Football Admin with contract negotiation preparation including research on comparable players and language studies
- Support, when necessary, other football related projects and/or special projects from other areas within the football department
- Assist the Football Admin & Strategy Coordinator with maintenance of player finance data stores to help support contract related research and analysis
- Review contract language and perform comparative studies across the NFL to strengthen standard language practices
- Assist the Football Admin & Strategy Coordinator with the tracking of player performance bonuses, injury replacement spending, and other budgeting items
- Assist the Football Admin & Strategy Coordinator with tracking and distribution of player fines from player discipline schedule
- Filing and organization of player contracts and required paperwork for compliance with league rules
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Data, or Law-Related field
- Knowledge and/or understanding of the NFL Salary Cap
- Proficiency of MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
- Organizational skills to keep track of important deadlines
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITY
· Mastery of MS Excel or other spreadsheet software
· Demonstrate experience in football/contract research
· Basic understanding of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement is a plus
· Strong time-management skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work under time pressure in a high stakes work environment
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary for this position is $18.81/hour.
