Controller
About the Role:
The DCS Controller is responsible for managing and directing the full Accounting function for DCS. This role will report directly (and serve as a strategic advisor) to the President of DCS. The role will also report indirectly to the Diakonia Corporate Controller.
In this role, you will:
• Partner with the DCS President in guiding DCS to hit defined financial targets.
• Oversee the accurate and timely completion of all DCS transactional accounting processes including A/P, A/R, and payroll.
• Ensure that DCS is responsibly managing cash flow.
• Ensure monthly financial records are maintained, fully closed, and the balance sheet is completely reconciled each month-end.
• Fully own the DCS job costing process and work closely with DCS PMs to ensure projects are being managed in a fiscally responsible way.
• Fully own the DCS budgeting and forecasting processes which includes managing the schedule, soliciting inputs from teammates, consolidating inputs, and delivering the final product.
• Ensure that DCS inventory is tightly controlled and properly costed, that regular cycle counts are being taken, and oversee the annual audited physical count.
• Provide detailed variance analysis to the DCS President and Diakonia senior leadership.
• Respond to all information requests related to audits of various kinds.
• Ensure timely registration and regulatory compliance with all government entities.
• Ensure sales tax compliance in each state where DCS does business.
• Provide weekly metrics (including flash, backlog, pipeline) that drive business decisions.
• Participate in bid review meetings to ensure jobs are bid profitably.
• Provide inspirational leadership to the DCS Accounting team.
• Stay current with recent accounting developments and ensure that DCS remains compliant.
