Senior Service Designer - Seattle (Part-time)
This is a contract position through the end of November 2025. This role is hybrid and must be based in the Seattle, WA area.
We are looking for a Senior Service Designer with deep expertise in research and service design to join our team. In this role, you will uncover insights, synthesize complex information, and create clear, compelling service design artifacts that inform strategy, marketing, and customer experience. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to shape meaningful, customer-centered solutions that connect business goals with real human needs.

- Lead qualitative and/or mixed-method research activities to uncover customer and stakeholder insights
- Synthesize and analyze research findings to identify patterns, themes, and opportunities
- Design and deliver polished, actionable artifacts such as journey maps, service blueprints, ecosystem maps, and stakeholder models
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative working sessions to align teams and identify solutions
- Present findings, recommendations, and visual deliverables to senior stakeholders in a clear, impactful way
- Collaborate across disciplines (e.g., strategy, marketing, brand, product, and experience teams) to connect insights to actions
- Help embed service design principles and customer-centric thinking across projects and teams
We would like you to have...
- 6+ years of experience in service design and qualitative research, with a strong portfolio showcasing both
- 3+ years of experience creating and leading the development of visual synthesis outputs such as stakeholder maps, journey maps, and similar diagrams and frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to uncover the “why” behind behaviors and connect the dots between individual insights and systemic opportunities
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with experience presenting to and influencing senior leaders
- Understanding of marketing strategy, customer segmentation, and audience positioning
- Experience conducting research in B2B contexts and with complex decision-making environments
- Excellent visual storytelling and artifact creation skills—proficient in tools like Figma, Miro, or similar
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, particularly in co-creation and strategic alignment sessions
- A degree in Service Design, HCI, Design Strategy, Behavioral Science, or related fields
- A systems thinker with the ability to zoom in and out—from detailed data points to big-picture implications
Compensation: Starting at $50/hr
This compensation range is indicative of the role. Compensation offered is on the basis of evaluation during interview process, the candidates range and depth of experience, business and market financials and internal pay parity. This role comes with a variable pay component based on performance.
