About the role:

As a Human Resources Associate, you will report into the Sr. Director Total Rewards, playing a crucial, generalist role in supporting various HR functions, including benefits administration, compensation, onboarding, and HRIS systems. You’ll have a strong understanding of human resources programs as well as having the ability to flex your Excel skills!

Why we’re hiring for this role:

We are looking for someone that can support various HR functions as well as be an in-person resource at our West Des Moines office location. This role functions in a hybrid work environment, where you will be required to come into the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

Once hired, you will:

  • You’ll complete our comprehensive onboarding program so you have the knowledge of DHI programs, benefits, processes and procedures.
  • Lead with a “One Team” mentality as well as being dedicated to living all our DHI values including Make Good Things Happen, Win Together, Innovate with Purpose, and End Each Day with Pride!

As you progress in the role, you will:

  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain people data in various systems and databases, including up-to-date employee files, records, and data within the HRIS system and other internal shared resources.
  • Process team member information changes in HRIS and communicate to the Payroll team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll
  • Ensure data integrity by conducting regular audits and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with onboarding of new team members by creating onboarding schedules, sending DHI swag, and other administrative tasks.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees questions related to company policies, benefits, leaves, and other HR-related matters
  • Support recruiting by assisting with job postings, scheduling interviews and coordinating recruitment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and DHI policies.
  • Assist with Benefits Orientation for new team members as well as assist with annual Benefit Open Enrollment for existing team members. This includes assisting in the administration of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, 401k, time off, and leave of absence.
  • Coordinate with various benefit providers regarding employee coverage questions and resolution of related issues
  • Develop and distribute reports to meet business needs for HR-related information; analyze information to identify trends and communicate insights to the appropriate individuals
  • Assist in planning and organizing engagement initiatives to continue to strengthen the DHI culture of inclusivity and continue to drive employee satisfaction

 

What you bring to the team:

Required:

  • Proven experience in data coordination, aggregation, and processing, as well as creation of standard and ad-hoc reporting
  • Strong understanding of benefits implementation and programs
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn people management software and similar computer applications
  • Analytical mindset with a strong eye for process improvement
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • General knowledge of employment, performance management, and recruiting principles, practices and law.
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information and situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Adept at meeting deliverables, seeking input, and collaborating with team members to meet objectives

Preferred:

  • Experience with Namely, Greenhouse, and other HRIS systems

Des Moines pay range: Base salary/pay per year, plus 10% annual bonus at 100% of plan targets tied to company and individual performance. Offer will depend on location and level of job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

$60,000 - $70,000 USD
