ABOUT THE ROLE… 

Digimarc is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Retail Market Development, responsible for building and managing executive relationships with front-end IT and operations leaders at global retailers, and with key account and go-to-market teams at hardware partners such as Honeywell, Datalogic, NCR, and Zebra. This person will serve as a member of our channel sales team and act as the liaison between our Retail customers and the hardware vendors. This critical role will be instrumental in driving the successful adoption and integration of Digimarc loss prevention solutions within the retail ecosystem. 
 
In this role, you will be the central point of contact, ensuring seamless communication and alignment between Digimarc, our retail clients, our hardware partners, and their key account managers. Your deep understanding of the retail industry, the challenges that front of store IT leaders face, and the intricate relationships they maintain within the business, and with their hardware vendors, will be essential in navigating complex landscapes and accelerating the rollout of Digimarc technologies. 
 
This role requires 50% travel.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO… 

  • Forge and Nurture Executive Relationships: Develop and maintain strong, strategic partnerships at the executive level with our Retail clients as well as Honeywell, Datalogic, NCR, and Zebra.
  • Leverage relationships with retail executives to drive adoption of Digimarc technology, and position the account team for cross sell opportunities.
  • Drive Roadmap Alignment: Collaborate closely with hardware partners to align product roadmaps, identifying opportunities for integration and optimization of Digimarc solutions within their hardware offerings.  
  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Communication: Ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication between all stakeholders, including Digimarc's internal teams, hardware vendor product and sales teams, and retail key account managers.  
  • Accelerate Retail Adoption: Work with hardware partners and retailers to identify and overcome technical and operational challenges, facilitating the widespread and effective deployment of Digimarc solutions in retail environments.  
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute partnership strategies that drive mutual growth and expand Digimarc's presence in the retail market.  
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies within the retail hardware and anti-fraud space.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR… 

  • 10+ years of experience  
  • Extensive Industry Experience: Proven track record of success in the retail industry, with a deep understanding of retail operations, technology, and common challenges.
  • Executive Partnership Acumen: Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and grow executive-level relationships with retail companies and major technology vendors, specifically within the hardware sector.
  • Hardware Ecosystem Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the relationships between hardware manufacturers and retailers, including their respective needs and priorities.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute long-term strategic plans that align with business objectives.
  • Results-Oriented: A strong drive to achieve ambitious goals and a proven ability to deliver measurable results.
  • Technical Aptitude: While not a technical role, an understanding of hardware integration, software deployment concepts and retail points of sales solutions is a plus.  

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 

  • Drive Retail Expansion: Increase the number of retailers adopting Digimarc’s solutions through strategic engagement and partnership alignment.
  • Grow In-Store Presence: Expand Digimarc’s footprint within existing retail partners by broadening deployment across additional stores, departments, and use cases.
  • Optimize Hardware Integration: Collaborate closely with hardware scanner partners to ensure timely implementation of software and firmware updates that maintain peak performance and compatibility with Digimarc solutions.
  • Accelerate Revenue Growth: Develop and execute strategies that increase revenue from retail partnerships through deeper integration, adoption, and long-term value creation.

Compensation:

$131,000 - $175,000 with a 20% bonus. 
This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, geography and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
