Position Overview

Digi Security Systems is seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of the BDR is to generate new business by landing new logos (clients) and converting marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) into sales-qualified leads (SQLs). This role will focus on following up on leads generated from trade shows, marketing campaigns, and other sources to build strong relationships and drive revenue growth.

Please note, there is one Business Development Representative position available, which can be based at any of our Digi branch locations. This is an in-person role with daily commute to the office expected.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Generation & Qualification: Proactively follow up on leads from trade shows, website inquiries, and marketing campaigns to qualify prospects. Convert MQLs into SQLs by identifying decision-makers, understanding their needs, and aligning them with Digi’s solutions. Conduct outbound prospecting (calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach) to identify and engage new potential clients.

- New Logo Acquisition: Drive the acquisition of new clients by targeting businesses in need of security integration solutions. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, ensuring consistent progress toward sales goals.

- Trade Show Follow-Up: Act as the primary point of contact for trade show leads, promptly following up to nurture relationships and schedule discovery calls or demos. Represent Digi Security Systems professionally, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for prospects.

- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to provide feedback on lead quality and campaign effectiveness. Partner with the sales team to ensure a seamless handoff of SQLs for closing.

- CRM Management: Accurately track all lead interactions, pipeline progress, and follow-up activities in the company’s CRM system. 

- Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging security needs to effectively position Digi’s solutions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, preferably in B2B technology or security industries.
  • Proven ability to generate and qualify leads, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage prospects confidently.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage leads and pipelines.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with trade show lead follow-up and outbound prospecting techniques.
  • Knowledge of security systems or related technology is a plus but not required.
