Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Solutions Engineering to join our team. This key leadership position will oversee the Solutions Engineering department at every Digi location, including owning the solutions engineering policies and processes, develop manufacturer relationships, manage construction services, and lead our research and development lab and demo equipment roadmap. The Director of Solutions Engineering will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of bespoke commercial security system design and customer satisfaction across all branches. This is an in-person role that can be based out of the following locations: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin or NW Arkansas.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Solutions Engineering team
- Enforce standards for design quality, quote accuracy, and turnaround
- Align SE capacity with sales pipeline and project timelines
- Administrate and optimize the site survey process and delivery
- Continuously improve estimating tools, templates, and processes
- Evaluate and lead manufacturer discount programs and vendor relationships
- Ensure quote design reviews and presentations are delivered to the highest quality
- Oversee and administrate the construction bid market sales motion
- Review proposals for accuracy and technical validity
- Own manufacturer training and certification program status adherence
- Track SE capacity and flag overload
- Own R&D lab and demo equipment roadmap
- Direct supervision of our Solutions Engineering team
- Maintain competitor pricing data library and strategically adjust pricing motion on historical information.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in solutions/sales engineering in the commercial security systems or low voltage industry.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing solutions engineering teams in a multi-location environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Candidates must have a strong understanding of low voltage systems, security technologies, and industry best practices.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical teams, clients, and executive leadership.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve complex design and engineering challenges while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Physical Requirements
- Must be comfortable utilizing a computer in an office setting for long periods of time.
- Must be comfortable traveling to and working on job-sites.
- Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of which you are applying and have the ability to meet our company driving standards.
