
Manager, DevOps and Infrastructure

Purpose
We are looking for a transformational leader to own and evolve the infrastructure, tooling, and developer experience that powers our advanced manufacturing software platform. This role goes beyond traditional DevOps — it's about building a robust internal platform, empowering developers, and driving a culture of operational excellence. You will lead the strategy, people, and processes that ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and resilient — all while enabling our teams to move faster with confidence.
The Role
- Define and execute a long-term strategy for infrastructure, deployment, and developer productivity
- Lead and grow a high-performing DevOps team
- Partner closely with software developers to ensure applications are reliable, performant, and secure from day one
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure to align on hardware provisioning, security, backup, and uptime needs
- Design and maintain scalable, observable, and automated environments for development, testing, and production
- Build internal tools, abstractions, and self-service capabilities that reduce friction for engineering teams
- Respond to incident and request tickets as required by stakeholders
- Measure and improve key DevOps performance metrics
- Foster a culture of resilience and continuous improvement
- Lead incident response and disaster recovery practices with urgency and clarity
- Be adaptable in the face of changing business and technical needs — able to pivot quickly while maintaining long-term vision
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering
- 2+ years managing or leading technical teams
- Strong architectural background — designing and scaling systems across development and production
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, & Microsoft Azure
- Deep experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, monitoring/logging, and cloud/on-prem environments
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with IT, software/programming, engineering, and security stakeholders
- Experience with hybrid cloud + on-prem infrastructure and system hardening
- Comfortable driving both high-level strategy and low-level implementation details
- Strong communication skills and a bias toward action in ambiguous environments
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
Preferred Qualifications
- Terraform, MinIO, BlackDuck, J-Frog, Artifactory, Pager Duty, and secrets management tools
- Track record of building internal platforms or self-service tools for developers
- Experience introducing DevOps KPIs and driving measurable improvement
- Deep understanding of software lifecycle, testing strategies, and release management
- Passion for developer experience, platform thinking, and empowering engineering teams

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels Manager - Senior Manager as evaluated through our interview process.
- Manager / PNG M06: $157,190 - $216,150
- Senior Manager / PNG M07: $182,380 - $250,745
