
Integrated Assembly Supervisor

Purpose
The Integrated Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating assembly operations across automotive, aerospace, and defense manufacturing programs, within additive manufacturing (AM). This role ensures efficient production workflows, adherence to strict quality and regulatory standards, and the successful incorporation of advanced manufacturing technologies into assembly processes.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on leadership with deep technical knowledge in both traditional and additive manufacturing, ensuring seamless hybrid production environments.
The Role
Supervision & Leadership
- Lead, train, and supervise a cross-functional team of assembly technicians and operators.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead in a high-mix, low-volume and/or high-volume production environment.
- Excellent communication and team-building abilities.
- Adaptability in a fast-evolving, technology-driven manufacturing landscape.
Integrated Manufacturing Operations
- Oversee assembly processes that combine additively manufactured and traditionally manufactured components.
- Ensure proper handling, finishing, and integration of AM parts (e.g., inspection, fitment).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to transition AM designs into production.
Additive Manufacturing Focus
- Support the implementation and scaling of additive manufacturing technologies
- Ensure compliance with material traceability, build documentation, and process validation requirements.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AM for improved performance, cost reduction, and lead time optimization.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all products meet industry standards including automotive (IATF 16949), aerospace (AS9100), and defense regulations.
- Collaborate with Engineering to perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for defects and non-conformances.
Process Improvement
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and waste reduction strategies.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
- Implement standardized work instructions and optimize assembly workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and maintenance teams.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and prototyping efforts involving AM components.
- Interface with customers and auditors as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in manufacturing/assembly supervision within automotive, aerospace, or defense industries.
- Proven experience with manufacturing technologies and hybrid production environments.
- Familiarity with precision assembly, tight tolerance systems, and high-reliability components.
- Experience with documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection techniques.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems and production tracking tools.
- Exposure to digital manufacturing tools.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP, and/or IATF 16949 standards.
- Experience with post-processing of AM parts (heat treatment, machining, surface finishing).
- Strong understanding of additive manufacturing processes (metal)
- Siemens NX or other CAD software(s)
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and materials.
- May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Occasional overtime and weekend work based on production needs.
Compensation
- Supervisor, M05: $116,420 - $160,080
