Purpose

The Global Supply Manager is responsible for managing supplier relationships, executing strategic sourcing initiatives, and ensuring the availability of critical components, materials, and manufacturing capabilities required to develop, build, commission, and scale Divergent's next-generation 3D printing and advanced manufacturing platforms.

The primary focus of this role is supporting Divergent's internal printer and manufacturing technology development, with responsibility spanning sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, and procurement execution for development builds. The role will also support automotive and aerospace programs through sourcing and supplier management, particularly for complex components, long-lead requirements, and critical supply chain needs.

This role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support an aggressive product development and production ramp roadmap.
Operating independently within assigned categories and programs, this individual manages supplier relationships and executes sourcing activities while driving hands-on procurement execution. The successful candidate combines strategic sourcing, technical supplier collaboration, and commercial execution, balancing cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and risk while contributing to the continued development of a scalable procurement organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Ownership

  • Execute sourcing strategies for critical categories supporting printer development, advanced manufacturing, and selected automotive and aerospace programs, including:
  • Printer systems and subsystems: lasers, optics, motion systems, gantries, sensors, controllers, and related technologies.
  • Critical components: gas and fluid handling, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical assemblies, motors, bearings, valves, COTS, and related hardware.
  • Material processing: machining, grinding, coatings, and NDT, including visual, ultrasonic, and radiographic inspection.
  • Manufacturing technology: CNCs, metrology, robotics, automation hardware, and other equipment required to develop and scale Divergent's manufacturing platforms.
  • Develop sourcing approaches for assigned categories aligned with technology roadmaps, program requirements, cost targets, capacity needs, and supply chain risk.
  • Assess supply markets, supplier capabilities, commercial conditions, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction, continuity, and long-term value.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for assigned requirements, including market analysis, RFx, supplier evaluation, cost analysis, negotiations, and sourcing recommendations.
  • Serve as a commercial resource for assigned categories, providing sourcing recommendations to Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Identify supply, capacity, commercial, and technology risks within assigned categories and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Support cross-functional sourcing readiness reviews for high-visibility development and production requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking sourcing pipeline covering new suppliers, alternate sources, cost reduction opportunities, capacity requirements, and supplier development needs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes, procurement standards, and category management practices.
  • Define and execute category strategies across complex or business-critical commodities, influencing long-term supplier selection, capacity, technology, and commercial strategy. (S06)

Program Support & NPI Procurement

  • Act as the sourcing point of contact for assigned internal printer and advanced manufacturing technology development programs, supporting platform milestones from concept through production.
  • Translate project BOMs and schedules into actionable procurement plans across prototype, pilot, and production phases.
  • Manage procurement execution for internal development builds, including supplier coordination, delivery tracking, expediting, and resolution of material constraints.
  • Partner with Engineering to manage design iterations with suppliers and support manufacturability and scalability.
  • Track and manage part readiness for critical build events and proactively escalate material or supplier risks.
  • Lead sourcing strategy and readiness for complex, high-impact development or production requirements where supplier decisions materially affect program cost, schedule, or technical execution. (S06)

Supplier Relationship Management & Technical Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships that improve cost, quality, delivery, and manufacturing scalability.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface for assigned suppliers, with responsibility for pricing, lead time, capacity, and overall supplier performance.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to qualify new suppliers and support resilient supply chains.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and equipment integrators on value engineering, lead-time reduction, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead sourcing activities for long-lead equipment, sole-source requirements, tooling, and technically complex procurement within assigned programs and categories.
  • Conduct structured supplier performance reviews and coordinate corrective action initiatives with cross-functional partners.
  • Develop supplier relationships that support long-term agreements, technology requirements, and future capacity needs.
  • Build and manage executive-level relationships with strategic suppliers and influence supplier technology roadmaps, long-term capacity commitments, and strategic partnerships. (S06)

Cost Management & Commercial Negotiation

  • Develop cost analyses and commercial evaluations supporting sourcing decisions, capital investments, and product cost targets.
  • Execute value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), alternate source development, and cost reduction initiatives within assigned categories.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, tooling ownership, warranties, service agreements, and supply terms.
  • Monitor supplier cost trends and develop mitigation actions to support cost and business objectives.
  • Present sourcing and commercial recommendations that balance cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk.
  • Lead complex, high-value commercial negotiations involving long-term supply agreements, intellectual property, capacity reservations, strategic partnerships, or significant business risk. (S06)

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
