Senior Payroll Analyst

About the Team

Our Payroll team plays a critical role in ensuring employees in Mexico and Brazil are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with all local labor and tax regulations. As a core pillar of our People Operations function, our mission is to enable employee confidence and operational integrity through efficient payroll execution, risk mitigation, and strict adherence to regulatory frameworks. We aim to build processes aligned to daily operational needs and support continued expansion into new LATAM markets. Key initiatives currently include optimizing payroll infrastructure in Mexico and Brazil, attention to audits, implementing automation, and developing consistent standards for future country launches.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations and payroll taxes in Mexico and Brazil, in coordination with the payroll team and external providers ensuring strict compliance with local legislation and internal policies. You will implement and enhance procedures to ensure compliant and accurate payrolls, leading mitigation and prevention plans. support audits and compliance reviews, and proactively implement operational efficiencies that strengthen our payroll infrastructure across the region. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver accurate and timely payrolls, ensure tax and legal compliance, lead audits and requirements effectively and provide support to timely responses to inquiries or requests from employees, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Your impact will be key in reinforcing operational reliability, ensuring legal compliance, and contributing to the optimization of payroll operations within a company experiencing constant and accelerated growth. You will report to the Payroll Manger of LATAM on our Payroll Team in our company DoorDash Technologies Mexico. You will go into our Mexico City office in Coyoacan on a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in-office.

  • Lead accurate and timely payroll processing—including regular, special and off-cycle runs—by validating data and ensuring compliance with local legislation.
  • Coordinate daily activities within the payroll team, organize and prioritize workloads, and monitor progress to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Oversee payroll tax processes in collaboration with internal and external partners to guarantee accurate application and timely remittance.
  • Ensure payroll and personnel documentation is properly maintained, organized, and accessible, supporting compliance, traceability, and day to day operations of the Company.
  • Drive continuous improvement across payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, and delivering consistent results aligned with operational goals.
  • Develop and document payroll processing standards, including checklists and reconciliations, to drive consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Participate in key projects or initiatives led by the payroll team or broader organization, including those related to system improvements or expansion into new countries.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 5+ years of experience managing payroll operations in Mexico, with strong knowledge of tax and labor regulations
  • You are proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and other payroll-related systems and tools, which you use for analysis, calculation validations, reconciliations, metrics reporting, and operational needs
  • You bring strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to payroll such as IMSS, SUA, LFT, ISN, ISR, INFONAVIT, FONACOT, and can apply this expertise to ensure compliant payroll execution
  • You work well under pressure, solve problems with a proactive mindset, and collaborate effectively across teams
  • You communicate effectively in both Spanish and English, ensuring smooth coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Brazilian payroll procedures is a plus
