Electrical Controls Technician

In recent years, Double Good has seen 40% year over year growth, and we’re excited about our future! We’re excited about the possibility of you joining our mission. We are looking for an Electrical Controls Technician to join our growing Maintenance team.
This role will be based out of our Burr Ridge office 5 days/week.
About the role:
- Repair complex electrical high speed manufacturing equipment, including automated machines, control panels, communication systems and alarms
- Safely repair electrical systems including up to high voltage, thermocouples, heating elements, temperature controllers, frequency drives, motor testing and photo eyes. Ability to run short conduit runs to and from a motor control panel.
- Ability to convert problem issues to corrective actions and small project execution.
- Able to redesign small electrical systems in a manufacturing environment in order to drive efficiency and performance improvements.
- Be an effective communicator with production workers, managers, and fellow mechanics.
- Be able to read and update electrical schematics.
- Be able to design simple Electrical circuits.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems by reading schematics.
- Familiarity with programming in Allen Bradley or similar PLC environment.
- HMI development experience.
- Performs complex wiring and programming assignments to troubleshoot and/or improve performance of manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of GMP’s and follow all food safety guidelines
Experience & Skills we value:
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role or Technical Engineering Degree
- Specialization in automation and plc systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Previous experience with PLC’s (Allen Bradley and Bekhoff)
Nice to have and/or you’ll learn:
- Professional Degree, Certificate or Apprenticeship
- Experience in a performance-based environment (lean, six sigma, TPS)
- NFPA 70e Certification
- Green or Black Belt in Six Sigma
- Experience in food manufacturing or high-volume fulfillment operations
