In recent years, Double Good has seen 40% year over year growth, and we’re excited about our future! We’re excited about the possibility of you joining our mission. We are looking for a People Experience Business Partner to join our growing People Team.

This role is based onsite at our downtown Chicago (Loop) location, with occasional visits to our Elmhurst and Burr Ridge locations as needed.

The People Experience Business Partner will be a pivotal player with the People team's strategic initiatives. The PEBP will positively impact the experience of employees with their passion for problem solving, and a desire to help DG scale in a fast paced environment. A strong leader to champion a “we” versus “I” mentality, build effective relationships throughout the organization, invite input from others, and share ownership and accountability. This position requires a strong project manager mindset that can balance strategic thinking with hands-on implementation, seamlessly transitioning between high-level strategy and practical execution. The PEBP will spearhead partnerships with our Growth Team and Finance Team, serving as a trusted advisor. This role is unique and will transcend the traditional HR role, embodying elements of strategic leadership, thought partnership, and internal consulting.

About the role:

  • Develops and maintains partnerships with senior leaders in Growth function (Marketing, Customer Ops, Product, Technology and Data & Analytics) and Finance function through the development of in-depth knowledge of the business both strategically and operationally
  • Work with the Growth and Finance teams to understand business strategies, diagnose current organization performance, and develop/implement plans to build needed organization capabilities and support ambitious growth.
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to the Growth and Finance teams, leveraging expertise to influence engagement, development, and retention strategies.
  • Use data to identify trends and opportunities, guiding the design and implementation of impactful People projects and programs.
  • Lead large-scale change initiatives in our dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless transitions and organizational alignment.
  • Partners with Growth and Finance leaders on development related programs including scorecards, conversations for growth, talent review, succession planning and leadership development 
  • Offer counsel and guidance to Growth and Finance team leaders consistent with company practices, legal considerations, compliance requirements and company priorities,  fostering a culture of trust and transparency.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and partner closely with the rest of the People Team, to develop and deploy comprehensive people programs that empower our workforce.
  • Review and analyze business metrics including data on employee experience and life cycle to focus business leaders on relevant issues while assessing potential strategies and solutions.
  • Provide compensation guidance and support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job architecture.
  • Executes strategies to ensure a high level of employee engagement, works with leaders to define focus and action plans for high impact focus areas 
  • Be a key member of the team helping to develop world-class HR capabilities
  • Drive collaboration within the People Team to provide excellent HR service and delivery while driving operational efficiencies
  • Support other activities as required

Experience & Skills we value:

  • A combination of 10+ years of HR experience supporting marketing, product and/or technology functions, and in one or more of the following areas: organizational design, change management, building management bench strength, performance management, culture champion, employee engagement, coaching and development, talent management, conflict resolution, data analysis, and employee relations.
  • Strategic thinker who can develop strong understanding of the business strategy and key drivers to inform people programs
  • Self-starter with strong results-orientation and strong communication and presentation skills. Consistent track record of reliability and willingness to focus and commit.
  • Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Excellent consulting and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to confidently express an opinion with thoughtful data and analysis that help make business decisions. Must be willing to challenge points of view when appropriate, offering alternative constructive suggestions.
  • Customer service orientation with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations – ability to serve multiple customers and deliver an excellent employee experience.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently delivering high quality results.
  • Excellent project management and relationship management skills, with a keen ability to work collaboratively and develop trust.
  • Advanced interpersonal, listening and communication skills, and a track record of effectively communicating with and influencing at all levels
  • Strong understanding of HR disciplines and programs
  • Experience building a culture of high team member engagement and satisfaction
  • Metrics driven with a history of using data to inform decision making
  • History of capability and willingness to maintain confidentiality and ability to serve as a trusted confidant to all team members

Nice to have and/or you’ll learn: 

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • PHR certification a plus
  • Experience working with Rippling, Workday or UKG a plus
