Senior Data Scientist, Analytics

As a Senior Data Scientist focused on product analytics, you will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets to provide actionable insights into how our products perform and how they can be optimized. Your expertise in data modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning will help improve our hotel revenue management solutions, driving both product development and business outcomes. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to support decision-making with data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Analytics: Perform deep-dive analyses of product performance metrics (e.g., user engagement, feature adoption, revenue impact) to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

  • Data Visualization: Create compelling dashboards and data visualizations that communicate key insights and trends to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communications and presentation skills. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and business teams to identify critical business questions and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Presentation & Communication: Clearly communicate complex data-driven insights to cross-functional teams and present findings to executives in a manner that supports strategic decision-making at all levels.
  • Data Description & Metrics Understanding: Define and understand key product metrics, ensuring that the right data is collected and used to support analysis. Develop comprehensive data descriptions that support product optimization and business strategy.
  • Data Instrumentation: Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure full and accurate instrumentation of data, guaranteeing that all relevant data points are captured and stored effectively for analysis.
  • Customer Insights: Analyze customer usage patterns, feedback, and behavior to inform product development and customer engagement strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas where advanced data analysis can improve business outcomes, including revenue optimization, product innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in machine learning or data science are a plus.

3+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a similar roleExperience working in or with the hospitality, travel, or revenue management sectors is preferred.

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data mining techniques, and basic modeling (e.g. linear regression, clustering techniques)
  • Experience working with complex data at scale, using Jupyter notebooks, pandas, seaborn and similar tools
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data tools (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is a plus.

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex analytical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with cross-functional teams.
