VP, Catalyst - Account Leader

 

Golin is looking for a Vice President, client leader, to drive a global account. You will partner with a team of account pros, influencer marketing specialists, creatives, analysts, media buyers and strategiststo drive award winning, breakthrough campaigns.    

This role will be a trusted advisor to our client, across communications and marketing functions, providing strategic counsel and ensuring client satisfaction over programming across a portfolio of categories and business units.   

You have proven leadership and client service skills, and experience developing and managing integrated communications programs. This role will be day-to-day contact for our client, manage communications across a cross-functional agency team, and support flawless execution in the most efficient and productive way.  

Our ideal team member has experience as an integrated communications expert, with the ability to focus on the larger picture, drive thought leadership and enable effective decision making, to achieve client and business goals. You have B2B client experience, worked on large, integrated client accounts, in a client-facing role, presenting strategic marketing recommendations, addressing challenges and opportunities, and providing media ready solutions.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Responsible for client strategy and social/digital integrated media strategy and plans  
  • Independently lead day to day account operations and serve as a primary client contact 
  • Work in close collaboration with integrated Golin team leaders including influencer strategy, earned, strategy and creative to deliver best-in-class social media and influencer strategy and work 
  • Build relationships with key clients to ensure that client/agency relationships exist on multiple levels/points of contact and will grow over time  
  • Provide client counsel on strategic and tactical matters, generating innovative ideas and opportunities that are linked to the development of strategic client plans 
  • Stay atop of industry best practices, client, and competitor brand activity, and ensure we deliver game-changing ideas and solutions 
  • Leadership experience as a people manager, collaborator, and advocate, a voice for the team and your direct reports 
  • Stay ahead of trends, create story opportunities from real-time news events, identify and lead organic growth opportunities   
  • Understand your clients’ business, industry competition, and relevant media  
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple disciplines and geographies and successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges 
  • Interact with clients to present strategic recommendations, addressing challenges and opportunities, providing ideas/suggestions that align with business and client needs  
  • Manage financials, including budgets and billing, projections and staffing 

 

What You Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in PR, social/digital, marketing communications, or related field 
  • At least 10-12 years of PR agency or related professional communications experience necessary, experience working with B2B clients a huge plus.  
  • Extensive experience leading the developing strategic consumer campaigns, which has earned mass awareness, strengthened brand equity, and impacted business objectives 
  • Proven experience as a client and team leader, a day-to-day client counselor, and strategic client partner 
  • Deep expertise in product launches, branding campaigns, media integrations, influencer engagement, and creating deep brand footprints. 
  • Demonstrated expertise and proven experience working on established consumer brands - A focus on consumer technology and/or food and beverage brand a plus 
  • Extensive experience as a client leader and partner, with the ability to own multiple workstreams, building deep relationships and partnerships with client leads 
  • Superior writing and editing skills, communicate creatively and in an engaging manner 
  • Deep understanding of earned, digital, and paid and social media approaches 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and superior client service skills 
  • High passion and enthusiasm, a positive spirit, able to translate that energy into generating results 
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with clients and teams at all levels 
  • Strategic and creative thinking with an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented, flexible mindset and ability to function in a fast-paced environment  
  • Experience managing all financial aspects of client business and managing/achieving revenue goals internally at an agency important  
  • Develop and manage multiple projects and programs including strategies implementation plans, staffing plans, budgets, and timelines   
  • You have been accountable for producing and delivering high-quality work and impactful, measurable results, while ensuring team members do the same 
  • Established leader who has managed and grown talent via mentoring, providing constructive feedback, and inspiring best in class work.

Salary range: $120,000 - $219,000 

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
