POSITION SUMMARY
We’re looking for a seasoned leader who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and lead the charge in transforming how we build, deploy, and scale infrastructure and software. In this role, you will set the technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy for Cloud Infrastructure and Developer Platforms. You will own the scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of the platform that powers EarnIn’s financial products, leading teams responsible for foundational infrastructure, developer experience, and engineering standards.
Your mission is to ensure our cloud and software development architecture stays modern, scalable, and aligned with what product engineering teams need to deliver high-quality software quickly and safely. This includes evolving our technology stack, mentoring leaders and engineers, and ensuring the organization is aligned and executing against shared priorities. The Mountain View base salary range for this full-time position is $315,000 to $385,000, plus equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. This is a hybrid position in Mountain View, requiring in-office work 2 days a week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Set a multi-year strategy and operating rhythm for PaaS Infrastructure, Developer Experience, and Frameworks, aligned to business priorities, reliability targets, and financial plans; establish clear KPIs and executive review cadences.
- Lead and develop a distributed organization of managers and senior/staff engineers; build durable mechanisms for planning, program execution, talent development, and predictable delivery.
- Own EarnIn’s cloud strategy at scale, including architecture, capacity planning, networking, security posture, and disaster recovery; drive right-sizing and efficiency improvements into durable savings without compromising reliability.
- Own the strategy, operating model, and outcomes for safe, automated software delivery, reducing drift and operational toil while improving release speed, reliability, and developer productivity across the organization.
- Drive organizational change toward a service-oriented architecture, aligning platform engineering investments with the CTO organization’s strategic objectives.
- Partner closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure Platform aligns with Product Engineering and Architecture, delivering initiatives on time and within budget.
- Provide strategic direction and technical oversight for platform engineering, ensuring priorities and execution remain aligned with business needs and product roadmaps.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 7+ years in software and/or platform engineering, including 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teams (Infrastructure, Developer Experience, Frameworks) operating cloud platforms at meaningful scale.
- Strong fundamentals in cloud architecture and networking, with experience building resilient, secure, and compliant environments (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver platform outcomes tied to developer velocity, reliability, and cost/performance, supported by strong program leadership and stakeholder management.
- Experience leading and enabling geographically dispersed teams, including across time zones, and driving predictable execution through aligned operating rhythms.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical strategy to executive leadership, product engineering teams, and strategic vendors.
- Experience scaling AI-assisted engineering (e.g., code assistants, PR/test automation) with clear guardrails and governance, and demonstrated impact on developer productivity and satisfaction
