Marketing Director, Strategic Messaging & Product Marketing

New York

Who we are

EDO is the TV outcomes company — a leading platform measuring predictive behaviors driven by Convergent TV advertising. By combining real-time engagement signals with world-class decision science, EDO data maximizes creative and media performance. We work with modern marketers at leading brands, TV networks, entertainment studios, and ad agencies. EDO's investment-grade data align advertising investments to business results — with detailed competitive, category, historical, and predictive intelligence. EDO is headquartered in New York City & Los Angeles.

We recognize the benefits of hybrid working and want to create the best balance to ensure we can continue working together effectively. For our NYC team, we have a hybrid work policy of three days in the office and two remote work days.

The Role

EDO is hiring a Marketing Director, Strategic Messaging & Product Marketing professional to serve as our strategic narrative leader  and a core communications partner to our SVP of Marketing and CEO.

This isn't a traditional product marketing or corporate comms role. It requires an advanced, hands-on understanding of product-driven communications tailored specifically for the complex world of advertising, media, and measurement technology.

You'll report to the SVP of Marketing and partner closely with the CEO, Product, Client, and Sales leaders. This role exists because EDO is moving fast in a competitive, fast-evolving category — and we need someone to help lead the industry conversation, not just respond to it. You will directly shape how EDO shows up in the market orchestrating everything from product and partner announcements to competitive narratives, press strategy, industry activations, and executive thought leadership.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP of Marketing and CEO. You will take high-level strategic challenges, form an informed and data-backed point of view, architect the execution plan, and proactively drive it forward across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and refine EDO's external narrative and executive voice across all channels—including product/data storytelling, competitive positioning, bylines, press relations, social media, and industry thought leadership.
  • Author crisp, foundational strategic briefs before any major creative or communication work begins. You will put strategy on paper to ensure internal execution is fast, aligned, and fully leverages both internal capabilities and external partners.
  • Manage and direct our external PR agency. You will set clear priorities, sharpen complex media pitches, manage the press calendar, and ensure every communication is highly credible and strategically sharp—not just promotional for its own sake.
  • Activate EDO’s external relationships across major industry organizations (including CIMM, VAB, ANA, ARF, IAB, and 4As) and client-side communications teams. You will surface compelling product stories, client wins, and breakthrough research across paid, owned, and earned media opportunities.
  • Maintain a deep command of the competitive landscape and distinct market advantages. You will proactively engineer the communications that shape market perception in EDO's favor — leaning in when it wins, staying disciplined when it doesn't.
  • Inherit, scale, and own the positioning, messaging frameworks, sales enablement, and go-to-market (GTM) plans for all new product launches. You will partner deeply with Product and Sales to effortlessly translate complex technical capabilities into clear customer needs.
  • Brief, direct, and grow a trusted network of contract writers and content partners. You will bring genuine, AI-native fluency to the role, leveraging AI tools as an advanced thought partner for rapid research, continuous ideation, and drafting velocity, while strictly applying the human judgment and nuance that AI cannot replicate. When a partner’s output isn’t meeting the brief, you move in to solve, and find a sustainable solution.

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, with a proven track record spanning advertising, marketing communications, product positioning, and data/measurement storytelling.
  • An adtech, martech, or enterprise media background is strongly preferred. You have spent meaningful time in one or more established companies driving product-driven strategic messaging.
  • You are an exceptional, highly versatile writer who can capture an executive's unique voice quickly and generate sharp, on-brand copy with minimal direction. You can dissect a brand's past work and instinctively reverse-engineer the tone, cadence, and pattern that makes it unique.
  • You are a natural connector across Sales, Product, Client Solutions, and Executive Leadership. You thrive at taking complex data methodologies and technical product capabilities and translating them into an elegant, high-impact narrative the market wants to hear.
  • You have clear experience directing PR agencies and external creative partners. You know how to write an effective marketing brief, push back constructively when the work isn't sharp enough, and extract elite output from people who don't directly report to you.
  • You possess a fierce ownership instinct. You spot structural gaps and close them without waiting to be assigned, you build repeatable messaging frameworks rather than one-off templates, and you manage your own delivery cadence without being chased.
  • You are a genuine, hands-on user of modern generative AI tools in your creative workflow. You don't just understand them conceptually—you leverage them daily as a force-multiplier to think faster, iterate quickly, and elevate the quality of your output.
  • Highly comfortable navigating ambiguity, accepting rigorous feedback, and steering through rapid industry evolution.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
