Licensed School-Based Mental Health Clinician
Make a lasting impact with a trauma-informed team. Effective School Solutions (ESS) is hiring a Licensed Clinician in the Old Bridge School District—High School. This full-time role offers a small caseload, a supportive clinical team, and the chance to deliver high-acuity care within a public-school setting. ESS Clinicians are full-time, salaried employees. They follow the school hours and school calendar year- which means ample time off during holidays. And they only work a max of 10 hours per week for 5 weeks in the summer. Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a base salary range of $65,000-$70,000, plus comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must hold one of the following full, independent clinical licenses in the state of New Jersey:
- LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
- LMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
- Experience working in school settings or behavioral/clinical settings is strongly preferred.
- Must have 3+ years of experience treating children and/or adolescents with significant behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using a computer.
- Must be able to complete thorough clinical documentation.
What You’ll Do
As a School-Based Mental Health Clinician, you’ll deliver high-impact clinical care and leadership in a self-contained program for students with emotional and behavioral needs. You’ll work closely with a small caseload of students, their families, and school staff to create a trauma-informed, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Individualized Therapy: Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy tailored to each student’s needs.
- Support Families: Facilitate monthly parent support groups and collaborate with families on care coordination, including referrals to higher levels of mental health support (e.g., IOP, PHP, inpatient).
- Coach School Staff: Train and consult with teachers, administrators, and support staff on trauma-informed approaches and student mental health needs.
- Promote Collaboration: Partner with interdisciplinary school teams to enhance the support environment and student outcomes.
- Ensure Quality and Compliance: Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, meet licensure standards, and track student progress.
- Professional Growth: Participate in regular clinical supervision, ESS-led training, and team collaboration to strengthen clinical and leadership skills.
- Contribute to Program Success: Support performance reviews, prepare relevant data, and help maintain clinical excellence in your program.
