Genomics Applications Intern

We are looking for a Genomic Applications Intern who is curious, loves to learn, and wants to make an impact on cutting-edge projects. Our program has multiple elements (no pun intended) to ensure that you have a well-rounded internship experience helping the Applications team to conduct more robust tests to support product launch and extend applications. This internship will also provide opportunities to develop soft skills as well as meet with Leaders across the organization to learn about their careers and gain insights on how to navigate your early career decisions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with world-class top-level researchers
- Explore NGS assay compatibility on cutting-edge sequencing instrument
- Study NGS assays and work on sample and library quantification assay improvement
- Perform experiments from sample collection, library preparation, to sequencing on cutting-edge instrument
- Perform data analysis of results and provide summary of the study
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate or Master level student with focus in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or closely related fields is preferred
- Experience in a wet lab environment ie. Pipetting experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct scientific experiments independently or with reasonable instructions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication and teamwork skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds: The position requires physical activity and the handling of chemicals. Candidates are required to follow the safety protocols and be familiar with personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in the laboratory environment.
