Location
- Hybrid: Employees who are able to perform the essential functions of their jobs away from an Elevations location may do so with the expectation that they are onsite at least fifty percent of the time over a two-week pay period.
Summary/Objective
The Mortgage Servicing Specialist I provides exceptional member service in response to mortgage servicing needs and inquiries. This role intakes requests and questions from Elevations staff and members and either provides requested information or submits and monitors service requests to the sub-servicer to meet member’s needs. This role also acts as a resource to others on their team and provides insight into process updates and potential enhancements.
Essential Functions
- Receive direct incoming member phone calls based on mortgage utterances and assist them using service model
- Serves as a subject matter expert, providing centralized member service for the credit union to both internal and external members by responding to mortgage servicing questions, as well as a resource to team members
- Performs mortgage loan maintenance and transactions as it pertains to mortgage servicing
- Entry level loan research and analysis of member accounts based upon 1st Mortgage Servicing queue tasks. Complete borrower requests based upon established policies and procedures
- First-level conflict resolution, emphasis on building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication
- Serves as the credit union’s first point of contact to the mortgage sub-servicing partner for mortgage servicing escalations.
- Ensures account accuracy, proper storage of member information and adheres to privacy standards as well as all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Pull mortgage servicing reports and perform the necessary action items listed within the process and procedure to include member outreach

Required Skills, Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- One (1) year first mortgage servicing experience
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae guidelines, as well as mortgage regulations and compliance.
- Experience with loan servicing including payment processing, escrow administration, and insurance claims.
- Positive approach to building member loyalty
- A deep desire to assist members, problem solve and build lasting relationships
- Professional and clear communication

- Advanced education beyond high school (Associates or bachelor’s education)

Work Environment
Elevations uses multi-factor authentication to keep our data safe. As such, a personal smartphone is a requirement for employment with us. This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements

Compensation Information:
The person hired into this position will likely earn between $20.03 and $25.05 per hour, plus annual bonus.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
