About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead and grow our Product Engineering teams at Emplifi. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple teams and managers, owning a segment of the department’s strategy, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact technical initiatives aligned with Emplifi’s vision.

As a senior leader of our product engineering teams, you’ll work closely with clients and cross-functional partners across our Go-To-Market (GTM), platform, and product teams. Your leadership will directly influence customer outcomes and business success. You'll help build and nurture a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability—supporting the growth of engineering leaders and ensuring we consistently deliver high-quality, on-time solutions. This role is critical in shaping Emplifi’s engineering culture and scaling our platforms, systems, and practices.


What You’ll Do Here

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Own and execute a portion of the engineering department’s strategy, aligning team objectives with company priorities.
  • Act as a lead stakeholder in strategic delivery areas, partnering with product, design, and business stakeholders to ensure engineering priorities reflect customer and market needs.
  • Ensure team alignment with company vision and technical standards through effective communication and planning.

Team Management & Growth

  • Coach, manage, and develop a group of engineering managers, fostering a culture of mentorship and high performance.
  • Support hiring, organizational design, and long-term team sustainability across your department.
  • Define and track growth paths for leaders and individual contributors.

Cross-Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Champion alignment and collaboration across platform, product, and GTM teams, ensuring engineering delivers measurable value to clients.
  • Partner with other directors and VPs to identify opportunities, manage risks, and drive cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between engineering and client-facing teams, translating customer feedback into actionable technical improvements.

Organizational Impact

  • Own and drive multiple department-wide initiatives, from process improvements to technical transformations.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making at the organizational level, helping teams navigate ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ensure the engineering culture supports innovation, autonomy, and accountability.

What You’ll Bring To Us

  • Proven experience in managing managers and leading multiple engineering teams, preferably in customer-facing product environments.
  • Strong track record in defining and executing engineering strategies at scale, with a focus on delivering client value.
  • Deep understanding of agile delivery models, architecture, and scalable systems.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a focus on developing leaders.
  • Ability to drive change and lead through ambiguity in fast-paced, cross-functional settings.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating with GTM or client teams.
