Director, Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure and Operations
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, and strategic Director, Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure and Operations to lead our Azure-based infrastructure with a strong focus on scalability, automation, and operational excellence. In this critical role, you will drive the design, deployment, and operations of our global cloud platform – ensuring scalability, security, and compliance for solutions that power patient engagement, value-based care, and administrative efficiency.
As the leader of cloud engineers and architects, you will foster operational excellence while delivering highly available, regulatory-compliant infrastructure for our healthcare products and services. You will partner with cross-functional teams – including security, application development, and business stakeholders – to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that enable innovation and agility at scale.
This is a unique opportunity for a cloud leader with a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure and a proven track record of managing high performing teams in a fast-paced, enterprise environments.
Location: Hybrid - Dallas, TX United States | Open to Remote with Travel to Dallas
Responsibilities include, although are not limited to:
- Lead the strategy, design, and day-to-day operations of our Azure-based cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise-scale solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security requirements, applicability of new cloud capabilities, and own the cloud service catalog.
- Champion DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices to drive automation, consistency, and speed across environments.
- Ensure high availability and performance of critical platforms used by providers, members, claims analytics, care coordination, and interoperability tools.
- Partner with InfoSec and Compliance teams to meet HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and other regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Implement robust observability, monitoring, alerting to proactively manage systems and incident response.
- Drive cost optimization and scalability strategies aligned with customer growth and platform expansion.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and client services team to support agile development and high-impact solution delivery.
- Stay ahead of Azure service advancements and healthcare cloud trends to guide platform evolution and technical decision-making.
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of cloud infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, trust, and continuous improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for system reliability, cost efficiency, and team productivity; communicate progress to stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience
- 6+ years in cloud architecture design and operations, including DevOps and platform engineering
- 4+ years in a technical leadership or people management role
- Hands-on experience managing complex Azure environments at scale, including networking, computing, storage, and security services.
- Deep understanding of DevOp principles and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Bicep), and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Solid understanding and experience with observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Experience supporting enterprise-grade platforms with SLAs, disaster recovery, and uptime requirements for external clients.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry requirements – HIPAA, HITRUST.
- Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills across technical and business stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of identity and access management best practices.
- Experience with hybrid cloud architecture
