Lantern is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our healthcare technology team and play a pivotal role in designing and building cloud-based applications that improve the lives of patients and healthcare providers. This role combines hands-on software development with opportunities to influence architectural decisions and mentor team members. You’ll work across the full stack—developing scalable backend services in .NET, building intuitive frontends, and delivering secure APIs—all within a cloud-native, regulated environment.

The ideal candidate is not only technically strong but also collaborative, proactive, and mission driven. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, working cross-functionally with clinicians, product managers, and compliance teams, and thinking critically about the trade-offs in healthcare technology. Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust backend solutions using .NET (C#) with an emphasis on security and compliance in line with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
  • Develop, document, and maintain RESTful APIs for integration with applications, third-party services, and mobile platforms.
  • Create intuitive and responsive frontends using React or Angular, tailored to care advocates and patient-facing applications.
  • Leverage cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) to build scalable, high-availability solutions using cloud-native services (e.g., functions, queues, storage, databases).
  • Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and infrastructure automation using tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Clinical, Compliance, and QA teams to define technical requirements and ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Participate in system architecture design, peer code reviews, and sprint planning.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to internal technical standards and documentation.
  • Support and enhance integrations with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, to ensure seamless data synchronization and workflow alignment with care operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s is a plus).
  • 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, Typescript, Angular, or React.
  • 5+ years of experience building secure and scalable REST APIs.
  • 3+ years of experience working with CRM platforms (ie, Salesforce)
  • Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with unit test frameworks like xUnit, Moq, and Jest.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 authentication and authorization flows.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure or AWS.
  • Hands-on experience integrating with CRM platforms such as Salesforce—e.g., working with REST APIs, data models, and process automation—is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in HIPAA-compliant environments and familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, X12).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Relevant cloud or CRM certifications are a plus.
