Job Description
At Emporia, hardware products are the tip of the spear - attracting customers, fueling data analytics, and enabling demand response through integration with Emporia’s energy management platform. We provide our customers with reliable, high value-added products at industry-leading pricing.
We are looking for a mid-level mechanical engineer or industrial designer to join our team. This role will be primarily focused on injection molded components for our various product lines but not limited to those roles. Experience with indoor and outdoor rated products is desired but not required. The role will be wide ranging from product conception through the entire development process up to mass manufacturing.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- BS Mechanical Engineering or BS Industrial Design
- 4-6 years professional experience
- 4-6 years Fusion 360 or SolidWorks experience
- FEA experience with a focus on injection molding simulation
- Experience with consumer product design and high volume production
- Manufacturing experience both in-house and with contract manufacturing
- Exposure to PLM & PDM systems
- Understanding of GD&T
- 3-5 years injection molding experience with a variety of plastic types
- Hands on experience building prototypes, and using shop tools
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC machining experience
- Launching commercial products
- Familiar with rapid prototyping like 3D printing, quick turn sample verification
- Sheet metal design experience
