About The Team:
LINQ’s Research & Development department is dedicated to driving innovation and continuous improvement across Payments, Nutrition, or Platform teams. Focused on exploring new technologies, optimizing systems, and developing forward thinking solutions, this team plays a critical role in shaping the future of LINQ. Through collaboration, strategic problem-solving, and rigorous testing, they ensure LINQ’s software remains cutting-edge, efficient, and aligned with the evolving needs of our customers.
About The Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer at LINQ, you will be a vital member of a cross-functional team, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of our core platform. You will work to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the diverse needs of K12 schools, districts, and the families they serve. You will be working across our technology stack, focused on our parent/guardian-facing mobile applications built with React Native (iOS and Android), and our administrator and parent-facing web application built with Angular, interacting with our .NET/SQL backend.
Primary Objectives:
- Technical Leadership: Be a leader in architecture, design and development of enterprise-grade applications while establishing and promoting engineering best practices across the team.
- Strategic Vision: Define and shape the technical roadmap for LINQ’s platform, contributing to and influencing broader technical strategies across the organization.
- Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide proactive guidance, mentorship and collaboration to engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design and develop robust, scalable, secure features for our web and mobile applications.
- Implement high-quality code in Angular, React Native, and .NET technologies, adhering to coding best practices and ensuring system performance.
- Take ownership of production operations for key system components, including monitoring, issue resolution, and ensuring SLA adherence, particularly for consumer facing systems.
- Proactively research and prototype new technologies and tools to enhance our platform and improve team capabilities.
- Contribute to the evolution of our system architecture, ensuring it scales to meet future needs and maintains long-term maintainability.
- Actively participate in agile scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to optimize team delivery.
- Challenge and improve existing team processes, suggesting and implementing enhancements to workflow and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and QA in a fully remote, agile environment to deliver successful software releases.
- Mentor and guide engineers at all levels, sharing your expertise and promoting best practices within the team.
- Focus on writing clean, testable, and secure code, consistently delivering high-quality work within sprint deadlines and contributing to overall team productivity.
What We Are Looking For:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive Software Development Experience: A minimum of 10 years of proven success in software development, with a strong emphasis on .NET and web technologies, architectural design, and cloud-based solutions.
- Expertise in Scalable Systems: Proficient in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems that support enterprise-level applications.
- Proficiency in Modern Development Practices: In-depth knowledge of contemporary development methodologies, including microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native development frameworks.
- Advanced Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges effectively.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering alignment across teams.
- Proven Leadership and Mentorship: Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and influencing cross-functional initiatives to drive technical excellence.
What will Make You Stand Out:
- Extensive .NET Expertise: Proven experience with Microsoft .NET Framework and .NET Core, including the development of enterprise-grade applications.
- Advanced Front-End Development Skills: High proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, AngularJS/Angular, and React/React Native, with a strong focus on building responsive, user-centric front-end solutions.
- Cloud-Native Architecture Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP services and cloud-native architectures, with hands-on experience in designing and deploying scalable, cloud-based applications.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in the EdTech sector or a related industry, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within educational technology.
- Payments & E-commerce Advantage: Experience in payments, financial services, or e-commerce development, bringing valuable insights to our critical payment processing features within the K12 education platform.
- SaaS Platform Development: Demonstrated success in working with large-scale SaaS platforms, including the development, optimization, and maintenance of cloud-based enterprise solutions.

- Agile & Collaboration Tools: (Azure Dev Ops) - for remote teamwork and project management.
- Cloud Platform: (AWS/GCP) - for hosting and scaling our platform.
- DevOps & CI/CD: (Azure DevOps Pipelines) - for automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
- Code Management: Git (Azure DevOps) - for version control and collaborative development.
