About the Position 

The VP of Digital Demand & Web Strategy owns Energy Exemplar’s global digital presence and performance -  the website, channels, platforms, and experiences that generate awareness, capture buyer intent, and convert prospects into pipeline at scale. 

As AI changes how enterprise buyers discover, research, and evaluate software, this role will ensure Energy Exemplar is found, trusted, and engaged with across both traditional and AI-powered digital channels before a sales conversation begins. 

This role owns our website strategy, SEO/AEO, paid media, social media, digital campaign execution, and digital marketing technology. Working closely with Revenue Marketing and Marketing Operations, the VP will ensure every digital investment is measurable and connected to pipeline and revenue. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Own energyexemplar.com as a critical global demand generation channel, continuously improving traffic, engagement, conversion, and pipeline contribution. 
  • Develop and execute Energy Exemplar’s global digital strategy across web, organic search, paid media, social media, and digital experiences. 
  • Create a repeatable, digital marketing playbook for integrating acquired companies into Energy Exemplar’s broader digital strategy. 
  • Own and evolve our global SEO strategy across technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content, and authority building to increase visibility with priority buyers. 
  • Build Energy Exemplar’s Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) strategy, ensuring our content and digital presence are discoverable across AI assistants, LLMs, and emerging search experiences. 
  • Monitor changing digital discovery and buyer behaviour, adapting our strategy as AI continues to reshape how enterprise software is researched and evaluated. 
  • Own global paid media strategy across paid search, paid social, programmatic, and content syndication, with clear pipeline and CAC targets. 
  • Drive continuous testing and optimisation across paid channels to improve conversion, pipeline contribution, and efficiency. 
  • Partner with Revenue Marketing to execute the digital components of integrated global demand campaigns, ensuring paid, organic, email, and web experiences work together effectively. 
  • Develop and optimise digital nurture and marketing automation programs that move prospects through the funnel with relevant and timely experiences. 
  • Own the digital analytics framework, providing clear visibility into the buyer journey from first digital interaction through to pipeline and revenue. 
  • Own and optimise the digital marketing technology stack, including web analytics, tag management, SEO, paid media, and digital experience platforms. 
  • Partner with Marketing Operations to ensure digital data integrates effectively with HubSpot, Salesforce, and marketing attribution models. 
  • Evaluate and implement emerging AI-powered digital capabilities that improve targeting, personalisation, buyer experience, and conversion. 
  • Lead and develop the Digital and Web team, building the capabilities required to support Energy Exemplar’s continued global growth.  

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of digital marketing experience within enterprise B2B SaaS, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. 
  • Deep expertise across web strategy, SEO, and paid media, with measurable examples of driving pipeline and revenue outcomes. 
  • Strong understanding of Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), AI-driven search, and how LLMs are changing enterprise software discovery and buyer behaviour. 
  • Proven experience turning a B2B website into a measurable demand generation and conversion channel. 
  • Strong experience managing paid media investment against pipeline, CAC, and ROI targets. 
  • Highly data-driven and analytical, with experience connecting digital performance to pipeline attribution and revenue. 
  • Strong understanding of digital buyer journeys, conversion optimisation, testing, personalisation, and marketing automation. 
  • Experience managing and optimising digital marketing technology and analytics platforms. 
  • Proficiency in HubSpot, Google Analytics, Salesforce, and major paid media and SEO platforms. 
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing digital teams. 
  • Experience marketing to technical buyers within complex, vertical-specific enterprise markets would be a significant advantage.

  • Organic search performance increases significantly through a combined SEO and AEO strategy, with a target of 40%+ growth in organic traffic. 
  • Paid media consistently delivers pipeline within agreed CAC and ROI targets, with efficiency improving quarter over quarter. 
  • Energy Exemplar achieves increased visibility across major AI assistants, LLMs, and answer engines when buyers research energy modelling, simulation, and related solutions. 
  • Digital performance is clearly measured and connected to pipeline and revenue, enabling confident investment and optimisation decisions.
