The VP of Marketing Operations is Energy Exemplar’s first senior leader dedicated to building and scaling the operational infrastructure behind our global marketing organisation.

This role will make Marketing more measurable, scalable, and commercially accountable by owning the Marketing ecosystem, marketing data and attribution, pipeline reporting, lead management, campaign operations, and budget performance.

As our first VP of Marketing Operations, you will have the opportunity to establish the function, define how we measure marketing’s contribution to growth, and build the systems, processes, and team required for our next stage of scale.

This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role. You will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Business Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance, and executive leadership to ensure we have trusted data, clear attribution, and the operational infrastructure required to make better investment decisions and deliver against our pipeline ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead Energy Exemplar’s Marketing Operations function, establishing the strategy,  processes, and operating model required to support a growing global marketing organisation.
  • Own and optimise the global Marketing Tech ecosystem, including HubSpot, Salesforce integrations, data enrichment, intent platforms, analytics, and emerging AI technologies.
  • Ensure clean, reliable data flows across Marketing and Sales systems, creating a trusted view of the customer journey from first engagement through to closed-won revenue.
  • Build and own Energy Exemplar’s marketing attribution framework, establishing clear definitions for marketing-sourced and influenced pipeline and contribution to closed-won revenue.
  • Develop trusted marketing performance dashboards and reporting covering pipeline contribution, funnel performance, conversion, velocity, CAC, and ROI for the CMO, executive leadership, and Board.
  • Partner with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Finance to establish consistent funnel definitions, attribution methodology, performance metrics, and reporting.
  • Own and continuously improve lead management, scoring, routing, qualification, and Sales handoff processes to increase conversion and reduce speed-to-lead.
  • Identify and implement AI-powered tools, automation, predictive analytics, and lead scoring capabilities that improve marketing efficiency and commercial outcomes.
  • Build scalable campaign operations and governance to ensure global campaigns are executed effectively, tracked accurately, and measured consistently.
  • Own marketing budget tracking and performance reporting, providing clear visibility into spend, ROI, and investment effectiveness by program, channel, and segment.
  • Partner with Finance on budget planning, forecasting, and business cases for future marketing investment.
  • Lead and develop the Marketing Operations team, building the capabilities required to support Energy Exemplar’s continued global growth.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Marketing Operations experience within enterprise B2B SaaS, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience building or significantly scaling a Marketing Operations function, operating model, or infrastructure within a growing organisation.
  • Deep HubSpot expertise, combined with strong experience integrating and operating HubSpot alongside Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise B2B marketing funnels, lead management, pipeline reporting, and marketing-to-sales processes.
  • Demonstrated experience building marketing attribution models and reporting frameworks trusted by Marketing, Sales, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Strong data and analytics capability, with experience translating complex marketing and pipeline data into clear commercial insights and recommendations.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing AI-powered marketing technology, automation, lead scoring, or predictive analytics.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing marketing budgets, ROI analysis, and investment reporting.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on — comfortable defining the future-state architecture while also getting into the systems, data, and workflows when required.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with the confidence to present marketing performance and pipeline data at executive and Board level.
  • Experience leading and developing Marketing Operations teams within a global or multi-region environment.
  • HubSpot, Salesforce, and relevant BI or analytics certifications are advantageous.

What Success Looks Like

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
