Senior Compliance Manager

We are seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Compliance Manager to join our growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to EnSafe’ s continued expansion while supporting a diverse portfolio of projects for clients across the U.S.
This position offers the flexibility to work remotely while collaborating with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

As a Senior Environmental Compliance Manager, you will lead and mentor junior compliance professionals while collaborating with senior environmental compliance leaders across the country to support clients and projects nationwide. Your responsibilities will include managing client relationships, developing proposals, overseeing and directing project execution, coordinating multidisciplinary efforts, and performing key technical tasks. Our environmental compliance professionals evaluate industrial facilities for adherence to air, water, and waste regulations; assist clients in obtaining and maintaining environmental permits; and help facilities identify and fulfill broader regulatory obligations.

In this position, the successful candidate will:
- Navigate local, state, and federal environmental regulations and lead permitting and compliance strategies for industrial clients.
- Author environmental compliance reports, air permit applications, and other regulatory submittals in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Develop and implement multi-media environmental compliance programs, including air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and EPCRA (Tier II and TRI reporting).
- Serve as technical reviewer for project deliverables, ensuring regulatory accuracy, completeness, and quality prior to client submission.
- Provide project management for environmental compliance and permitting projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
- Support and help lead the environmental compliance service line by mentoring junior staff and fostering technical development.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including preparing labor/material estimates, proposals, and expanding client relationships and market presence.
- Collaborate across service lines to identify client needs and expand compliance-related service offerings.
- Travel periodically (including overnight travel) to client sites throughout the U.S. to conduct audits and provide regulatory compliance support.
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
- 15+ years of environmental compliance experience in a consulting or industrial setting.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Strong technical writing skills, with demonstrated ability to produce regulatory-quality permits, compliance reports, and agency responses.
- Experience serving as a technical reviewer for environmental compliance work products.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including scope development, cost estimating, scheduling, and management of multiple concurrent projects.
- Proven business development experience as a “seller-doer,” with a track record of growing client relationships.
- Business acumen with an understanding of revenue growth, profitability, utilization, and team performance metrics.
Experience should include:
- Air permitting (PBR, NSR, and Title V)
- EPCRA Tier II and TRI reporting
- SPCC Plans and SWPPPs
- Hazardous waste reporting and contingency planning
- Industrial wastewater discharge permitting and reporting
