Lead Cloud Architect – AWS Delivery
Overview
As a Lead Cloud Architect – AWS Delivery at ePlus, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation—guiding a talented delivery team of engineers in designing and deploying cutting-edge, AWS solutions. You’ll architect and implement scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructures and applications, ensuring every solution aligns seamlessly with our clients’ business goals and technical needs. This is a high-impact role where your leadership and technical vision will shape the future of digital transformation for some of the most forward-thinking organizations. This role operates in a client-facing consulting environment. Architects are expected to balance technical excellence with delivery timelines and customer expectations.
Your Impact
The essential functions of this position include:
- Serve as technical SME leading a team of Engineers, Sr. Engineers, Consultants, Sr. Consultants, and Architects focused on AWS solutions
- Provide Sales Engineering support, assist with LOE creation and SOW development
- Collaborate with AWS and their engineering teams for design assistance, reference architectures, and practice enablement
- Work with the ePlus AI services team to develop AI solutions on AWS
- Assist in building and empowering members of the ePlus Cloud Services team.
- Work with the Cloud Services Director to develop cloud training paths and certification goals for each team member.
- Provide input on employee performance reviews with a focus on cloud expertise.
- Support resource management and project staffing for cloud engagements.
- Serve as an escalation point for cloud architecture and implementation challenges.
- Maintain advanced AWS technical certifications
- Engage directly with customers to understand cloud transformation goals and deliver solutions that meet ePlus’ standards.
- Define and evangelize AWS delivery standards and reference architectures, ensuring consistency, quality, and repeatability across all customer engagements.
- Own the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy for AWS delivery, including selection, patterns, and best practices (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation), and ensure adoption across delivery teams.
- Serve as a delivery representative in cross‑functional AWS go‑to‑market (GTM) initiatives, partnering with strategy, sales, presales, and postsales teams to shape offerings, positioning, and execution models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
- Prior experience working for a technology consulting firm, cloud consultancy, or cloud service provider
- 3+ years serving as Lead Architect owning cloud services engagements across the full lifecycle: discovery, architecture, implementation, validation, and handoff
- Experience managing architectural risks, delivery tradeoffs, and in-flight changes during execution
- Demonstrated experience delivering multiple customer-facing cloud engagements from design through production
- Led delivery teams of 3+ engineers or consultants on active engagements
- Responsible for architecture reviews, delivery oversight, and customer technical escalations
Position Specifics
The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $125,000 and $170,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, our compensation package may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.
