cBEYONData + SMX is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Data Migration Consultant to support a large scale transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA for a DoD client. This role focuses on leading end to end data migration strategy, execution, and governance across multiple functional areas. You will play a key role in defining migration approaches, participating in Business Process Re engineering (BPR) discussions, assessing legacy data structures in ECC, and ensuring a seamless transition into a consolidated S/4HANA environment. Responsibilities:

  • Work on the data migration workstream across multiple SAP functional areas, ensuring all data objects are extracted, transformed, validated, and loaded accurately into SAP S/4HANA.
  • Partner with functional SMEs to define migration rules, mapping logic, cleansing strategies, and data validation requirements.
  • Develop detailed, technically sound migration plans including ETL processes, conversion timelines, quality gates, and cutover activities.
  • Coordinate with the Scrum Master to align all migration tasks with agile sprint objectives and delivery milestones.
  • Serve as the SME for data migration related decisions, including identifying cross module data dependencies and resolving data related issues.
  • Execute hands on data transformation and validation tasks using SAP S/4HANA migration tools (e.g., Migration Cockpit, BAPIs, IDocs, LSMW for ECC).
  • Participate in BPR workshops to analyze existing ECC data structures and requirements for the target S/4HANA data model.
  • Research and recommend best practices for data migration into S/4HANA, including data quality, cleansing, and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrate migrated data and conversion outcomes to stakeholders, offering recommendations for aligning data structures with future-state processes.
  • Work closely with technical teams to manage development objects (interfaces, conversion programs, staging environments) and support the path to production.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Hands on lead experience in SAP data migration for both ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA environments.
  • Minimum 2 full lifecycle SAP ECC 6.0 implementations, serving as data migration or configuration lead across multiple modules.
  • Minimum 2 full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation with primary responsibility for data migration strategy and execution.
  • Prior experience supporting Federal Government SAP programs, with knowledge of compliance, auditability, and DoD data standards.
  • Minimum 10 years of SAP functional + configuration experience, including strong familiarity with core modules such as FI, FM, CO, SD, PP, EWM, TM, and PS.
  • Advanced proficiency with SAP migration tools (SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP DMT, IDocs, BAPIs, custom conversion programs).
  • Expert understanding of master data, transactional data flows, and cross module data dependencies.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP business processes (B2R, P2P, P2S, O2C) and how they influence data structures and migration logic.
  • Experience leading data focused requirements workshops, mapping sessions, and validation cycles with stakeholders and functional POCs.
  • Proven ability to solve complex data issues through deep analysis, root cause evaluation, and creative solution design.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and contributing effectively in distributed/remote environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a strong sense of ownership and mission.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working or leading in a team utilizing Agile Software Methodology 
  • Working knowledge of SAP Best Practices (BPPs)
