Principal Functional Safety Engineer
Ethernovia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Functional Safety Engineer to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust functional safety concepts for our complex automotive systems. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our products comply with the highest safety standards, making a direct impact on the future of automotive technology.
Key Responsibilities

Develop Safety Concepts: Architect and implement functional safety concepts for automotive systems and products.

Conduct Safety Analyses: Perform a range of safety analyses, including FMEA, FMEDA, TSR, HARA, and DFA, to assess and mitigate risks in accordance with relevant safety standards.

Define and Integrate Requirements: Define detailed safety requirements for both hardware and software components and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these requirements seamlessly into the design and development processes.

Ensure Compliance: Guarantee compliance with ISO 26262 and other relevant safety standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Provide Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert on functional safety, providing guidance and support to project teams on all safety-related issues.

Create Documentation: Generate and maintain all required safety documentation, such as Hazard Analyses, Safety Plans, and Safety Use Cases.

Continuous Improvement: Conduct training and workshops on functional safety and continuously improve the processes and tools related to it within the organization.
Technical Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience: Proven experience working on functional safety within the automotive domain, with a deep understanding of standards like ISO 26262.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of software development, verification, and validation processes.

Ability to conduct comprehensive safety analyses, including FMEA and FTA, and to develop safety concepts.

Experience in safety-related project management and coordination.

Familiarity with safety-related hardware, software components, and their integration.

Certifications: A certification in Functional Safety is a definite plus.
