Financial Controller
About Euc
We’re on a mission to make good health last a lifetime. More than 1 billion people live with obesity worldwide, driving preventable chronic conditions. We’re here to build better long-term care.
Euc is the company behind Juniper, one of the world’s largest weight-management programs combining GLP-1 medication with personalised nutrition, movement support, and clinician-led care from prescribers, nurses, health coaches, pharmacists, and dietitians. Our published clinical research shows that our combined clinical and behavioural approach helps patients lose significantly more weight during their treatment with Juniper by four times.
Our Growth Story:
- 130% YoY revenue growth and 90% reduction in cash burn, with $100M+ raised from investors including BOND, NewView, Blackbird and Airtree.
- Scaled to over 100,000 monthly active patients across our weight-management program.
- Grew the UK patient base from 4,000 to ~40,000 and received selective NICE endorsement to provide services to the NHS.
- Tailored our offering to over 5,000 patients in Germany and Japan
About the role (What you’ll be doing)
The Financial Controller will own all technical accounting, reporting, and compliance across the group. This is a role for someone with deep technical expertise—audit trained, confident in IFRS, and experienced in lifting the accuracy and reliability of financial operations in a complex environment. The focus is on controllership, not commercial partnering.
You will lead month-end, year-end, statutory reporting, external audits, and the operational accounting engine (AP, AR, payroll support, and general ledger). You’ll strengthen controls, streamline processes, and ensure our reporting is audit-ready at all times. Experience in high-growth, multi-entity environments or IPO preparation is advantageous.
Managing a team of 4 direct reports in Sydney and 15 indirect reports in Manila, you’ll play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, driving process improvement, and supporting commercial decision-making as we continue our rapid global expansion.
As Financial Controller, you will:
- Lead a Global Controllership Function: Manage and mentor high-performing teams across Sydney and Manila, ensuring smooth delivery of global finance operations aligned with compliance requirements in Australia, the UK, Germany, and Japan.
- Operational Accounting Leadership: Lead AP, AR, and core accounting operations, ensuring high-quality execution and strong internal controls.
- Financial Governance & Compliance: Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with international and local standards. Ensure tax and payroll compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Technical Accounting & Reporting: Lead all technical accounting, reporting, and compliance across the group, owning month-end, year-end, IFRS application, statutory reporting, and the external audit process with a high standard of accuracy and control.
- Scalable Systems & Controls: Drive continuous improvement through automation, systems enhancements, and scalable processes that support our global growth.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business leaders across markets and functions (e.g., People, Legal, Commercial) to align finance operations with company strategy and market-specific needs.
- Cross-functional Touchpoints: Partner with FP&A, Legal, Operations, and People teams as needed, while maintaining core focus on technical excellence and financial integrity.
- Governance & Controls: Build and maintain a strong control environment across financial reporting, reconciliations, approvals, and key accounting processes.
- Support IPO-readiness workstreams through improved policies, documentation, and reporting discipline.
About you (Who you are)
- Audit-trained (Big 4 or similar) with deep technical knowledge and strong IFRS capability.
- Strong grasp of controls, reconciliations, consolidations, and multi-entity accounting.
- Proven experience running financial reporting and audit processes end-to-end.
- CPA or CA qualification with 8+ years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in a multinational or high-growth tech-enabled environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-border finance teams.
- Experience in high-growth, multi-entity or IPO-adjacent environments is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of global accounting standards, tax regimes, and payroll compliance, particularly across Australia, the UK, Germany, and Japan.
- Passion for team development, cultural leadership, and building collaborative, cross-border finance functions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, with a strong understanding of automation and process improvement.
- Not a commercial finance role—you enjoy the technical side of accounting and want to build a best-in-class controllership function.
