Position Summary

Are you ready to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge MES solutions that power real-world manufacturing? As the MES Solutions Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping technical solutions using our proprietary MES platform (OPS), guiding implementation projects from initial requirements through to full implementation and completion.

In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate closely with other Technical Leads to translate complex manufacturing needs into robust digital solutions that meet customer expectations. You'll apply an ISO 9001-approved systems engineering methodology across projects based in Ireland and abroad — with full training and continuous support provided on our Orbis application software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement MES solutions using our OPS software that accurately reflect the complexity of real-world manufacturing processes.
  • Lead the Technical team in delivering successful MES solutions, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance across various projects, collaborating with team members to deliver optimal technical solutions.
  • Diagnose and address operational data issues as part of the overall design and solution process.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure successful design and implementation of MES systems.
  • Engage with customers during project meetings, addressing actions and issues promptly to ensure project success.
  • Follow the project workflow as outlined in the project plan to meet deadlines set by the Program Management Manager.
  • Understand customer processes and requirements to ensure projects are implemented to specification, participating actively in design, implementation, testing, and validation phases.
  • Requirements gathering and scoping for new projects at the sales / scoping stage
  • Gaining an understanding of the manufacturing engineering / process side of the operations, and mapping those to MES solutions
  • Actively lead and mentor the project team, including training junior team members on MES solutions.
  • Participate in the configuration, testing, and computer system validation of MES systems and related configurations, leading the team in these tasks.
  • Liaise with the wider Orbis team to promote continuous improvement across all projects and processes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of MES solutions and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related fields with sufficient IT experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing software in manufacturing or strong process-oriented environments
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with SQL databases and T-SQL codes. Ability to read, write, modify Stored Procedure (Views, Functions, Triggers etc) REQUIRED
  • Experience building back end code in C# (.NET), Integration Services , API Builds ,experience with Report building ( MS SSRS ,Telerik) REQUIRED
  • Experience developing and maintaining reporting solutions and dashboards using the Microsoft tech stack (including SSRS and Power BI)
  • Infrastructure / Network knowledge, and experience with version control (GIT) preferred.
  • Industry knowledge in either food and beverage or pharmaceutical would be considered an advantage.
