Position Summary  

The Project Specialist collaborates with customers and internal teams to deliver successful product rollouts and support. Responsibilities include pre-sales support, requirements gathering, project planning, project management, budgeting, documentation, on-site visits, training, and solution implementation. The role involves working on various projects in a variety of roles, from project manager to tactical execution, to being an internal resource or expert. It primarily supports our Merchant Ag solutions but also engages with all business units and interacts with technical teams, product teams, customer support, sales, product users, IT, and project sponsors.  

Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales / Requirements Gathering:  

  • Support sales with product demonstrations and client meetings. 
  • Lead discovery and requirements gathering sessions. 
  • Prepare Statements of Work, budgets, and project plans. 
  • Collaborate with development and technical teams for project estimates. 
  • Communicate project scope, risks, and plans with clients. 

Product Implementations:  

  • Develop strategies for customer onboarding and implementations. 
  • Plan, schedule, and report on implementation progress. 
  • Coordinate with technical resources, sales teams, and customers. 
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed. 
  • Train and support end-users during and post-implementation. 
  • Ensure customers have necessary resources and test system setups. 
  • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams and drive project progress. 
  • Travel, approximately 40%, to client sites as needed. 

Project Management 

  • Maintain weekly timesheets and tracking of hours worked assigned to projects and tasks. 
  • Update all project notes and project status reports weekly 
  • Align project objectives with company goals. 
  • Maintain project documentation and track progress. 
  • Schedule and document project meetings. 
  • Monitor project milestones, budget, and publish status reports. 
  • Manage changes to meet project outputs and work on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Foster partnerships with customers and stakeholders. 

Overarching Duties:  

  • Maintain subject matter expertise and become a power user of all solutions. 
  • Create and update training documents. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude and measure success through customer satisfaction and usage metrics. 
  • Refine processes based on new learnings and share information with the team. 
  • Provide backup support to other team members as needed. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university –or - associate degree and three years related experience and/or training 
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience 
  • ERP software implementation experience 
  • Agricultural industry preferred 
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Basecamp, Oracle OpenAir, Centraprise) and software support technologies (e.g., Salesforce Service Cloud), PowerPoint, Excel is desirable.
