This is a full-time position based in our Oakland, California office with a hybrid work schedule: in the office Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the option to work from home Tuesday and Friday.

The Opportunity

As the Head of Product Design, you will be a key leader in the product organization, driving our long-term design strategy and building a world-class team. Your leadership will directly influence the user experience of our product and the growth of our people. 

In your role, you will:

  • Build & Grow a High-Performing Team: Provide hands-on coaching, mentorship, and career pathing to your Product Design management team to grow their impact and careers. Elevate design excellence by championing best-in-class design practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Scale the team through strategic hiring, effective onboarding, and strong organizational design.
  • Own a Design Vision: Define and articulate the product design strategy and vision across our core product, aligning it with company-wide objectives and translating it into a clear, actionable plan. You will reinforce this through feedback and collaboration with your team.
  • Demonstrate Strategic Leadership: You will make strategic decisions to drive impact in alignment with Everlaw's goals. You'll apply your problem-solving skills and judgment to navigate complex strategic challenges to ensure Everlaw is well positioned for long term success.
  • Set Clear Expectations: You'll set clear goals and define roles and responsibilities to ensure your team knows what success looks like and how to achieve it.
  • Reinforce Accountability: Ensure strong performance and behavioral alignment across your team. You will be responsible for creating rhythms of accountability, rewarding strong performance, and addressing under-performance and behavioral gaps to maintain a healthy team culture.
  • Exhibit People Leadership: You will serve as a model for how to work with, lead, and motivate others. You'll collaborate with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, and GTM teams, and you'll use your influence and communication skills to manage change and champion our values.

About you

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in a product-focused design role.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience managing and mentoring teams, including people leaders, with a track record of scaling and developing high-performing teams.
  • You have direct experience driving strategic business outcomes through design for enterprise SaaS products
  • You possess exceptional strategic thinking and execution skills, capable of translating high-level vision into tactical plans while maintaining a focus on detail.
  • You are a seasoned leader with a strong ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders, from individual contributors to executive leadership.
  • You have a deep understanding of user-centered design processes. 
  • You are a proactive problem-solver with the ability to navigate complex cross functional challenges and drive clarity in ambiguous situations.

  • You are authorized to work in the United States without restrictions. Please note that at this time, Everlaw is not sponsoring F-1 OPT or STEM OPT visas.

Total Rewards

  • The expected salary range for this role is between $233,000 - $317,000. The final offered salary will be dependent upon many factors including the candidate’s experience and skills. The base pay range is subject to change in the future.
