About the role

The Financial Accountant will act with integrity ensuring accurate accounting and reporting results on a monthly and annual basis.

The Financial Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations. This position will also provide assistance with month- end closing responsibilities, data collection and preparation of monthly metrics.

The role is ideally suited to someone keen to expand their SaaS knowledge and overall business experience in a fast moving, dynamic environment. The company is also upgrading financial and operational systems so a great opportunity exists to expand systems experience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis to support management decision making
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial accounts including duties ranging from prepayment / PO accrual posting, loan interest posting, GL account variance analysis etc
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to stakeholders across the business
  • Prepare financial reporting to various stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function liaising with other functions in the finance department
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria

  • Chartered accountant qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) – newly qualified or partly qualified
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience with accounting software and financial systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in a similar role in a technology or software company
  • Experience with SAP / SAGE accounting software
  • 1+ years of industry experience
