About the role

As the VP, Accounting, you will work with the wider Finance management team to shape the future finance function as we bring two leading Ed-tech companies together.

This role will offer you the chance to make a significant impact, driving financial excellence and innovation within the organization, working with new systems and technologies to standardise, streamline and optimise processes and drive automation. 

Working closely with peers within the Financial Control team, Finance Operations and Strategic Finance teams, you will play a critical role in the creation of financial strategy and decision-making processes to support the company's growth objectives.

This fixed-term contract position runs until December 31, 2025, with a possibility of extension.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Group Finance team to design and implement robust financial controls that ensure accurate and reliable reporting at both regional and dimension levels (e.g., business unit, department, project).
  • Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of financial systems, tools, and technologies that support business objectives, enhance reporting capabilities, and streamline financial processes.
  • Standardise and optimise internal and external financial reporting processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all reporting lines.
  • Assess existing processes to identify opportunities for automation and simplification.
  • Support and reconcile all reporting requirements using Tableau in coordination with the Group Finance team.
  • Partner with the SVP to manage the transition of Nordic accounting operations under Finance Control.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the closure of dormant entities and assist with Hive-Up processes for newly acquired businesses.
  • Explore and assess the applicability of accounting automation tools such as FloQast or Blackline.
  • Provide support for M&A activities, including due diligence, integration planning, and execution aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Integrate newly acquired businesses into the company’s internal control and risk management frameworks.
  • Contribute to strategic business initiatives such as market entry, group structure optimisation, consolidation of professional services providers, and preparation for investor exits.

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised accounting qualification with 3+ years of substantial experience in private equity or complex global financial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing competing priorities and ambiguity.
  • Track record of supporting M&A transactions and overseeing complex financial projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster strong relationships with investors and internal stakeholders.
