About the role

The Director of Data Quality & Governance will lead the establishment and enforcement of data governance standards across our Information Systems data landscape. Reporting to the VP of Data, this role will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness of data used across key business systems — including Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and Marketing Cloud. The role combines a strong understanding of SaaS business metrics (e.g., ARR, renewals, churn, pipeline) with expertise in governance frameworks, data quality management, and stewardship practices.

This role will also manage a small team of Data Quality Analysts, providing leadership, structure, and direction to ensure data across the organisation meets business, operational, and compliance needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Governance Leadership: Establish, maintain, and evolve the organisation’s data governance framework, policies, and standards.
  • Data Quality Oversight: Lead a small team of Data Quality Analysts to monitor, assess, and improve data quality across Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and other enterprise systems.
  • Metadata & Lineage Management: Define ownership, lineage, and classification for key data assets across internal systems.
  • Data Stewardship & Ownership: Partner with business and system owners to define data responsibilities, enforce governance processes, and promote accountability.
  • Policy Development: Define and document standards for data creation, enrichment, integration, and usage to ensure consistency across business functions.
  • SaaS Metrics Alignment: Ensure governance frameworks support accurate and reliable reporting of key SaaS metrics such as ARR, renewals, churn, pipeline, and bookings.
  • Change Enablement: Embed governance practices into system changes, integrations, and data initiatives in partnership with the Internal Systems and Compliance teams.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide transparency through reporting on data quality metrics, ownership status, and governance maturity.

Essential Criteria 

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or information quality.
  • SaaS Knowledge: Proven experience working within a SaaS environment, with a strong grasp of business metrics such as ARR, churn, retention, and pipeline.
  • Governance Frameworks: Demonstrated ability to establish or improve data governance frameworks and operational processes.
  • Systems Understanding: Familiarity with Salesforce, ERP (e.g., Sage Intacct), and marketing automation data structures.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset and ability to define, measure, and track data quality KPIs.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing data ownership across business functions.
  • Leadership: Experience managing or mentoring team members focused on data quality or governance.

Desirable Criteria

  • Familiarity with Databricks or modern data platforms.
  • Knowledge of data compliance and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Internal Systems, Finance, Sales and Marketing.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., DAMA CDMP, Data Governance & Stewardship Professional).
