Job Summary

As a Community Association Financial Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the financial health and long-term success of community associations. This position partners closely with internal teams and external management companies to ensure accurate budgeting, financial oversight, and operational excellence. These skills will be used to:

  • Support the annual budgeting process, including analyzing operating expenses and reserve funding requirements.
  • Review and audit financial statements and budgets prepared by external management companies for accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with internal teams to evaluate revenue, costs, and break-even scenarios for new community associations.
  • Manage deficit funding processes and provide ongoing updates to association financial plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial reports and annual budgets in alignment with company standards.
  • Analyze financial performance to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Approve and monitor association expenses, ensuring alignment with scope and budget expectations.
  • Maintain vendor pricing data to support budgeting and negotiation efforts across regions.
  • Process and manage invoices related to association fees for unsold homesites and homes.
  • Serve in a financial leadership capacity (Treasurer role) for governed associations, supporting sound fiscal management.
  • Provide administrative and financial support for startup communities until external management is established.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
