This position combines consultative selling with ongoing account management. The Service Account Manager builds relationships at corporate and site levels, secures profitable work, and partners with service operations to ensure commitments are clear, achievable, and consistently fulfilled.

Key responsibilities

National business development and account growth

  • Identify, pursue, and win new data center clients, including hyperscalers, colocation providers, and enterprise operators; expand relationships within existing accounts.
  • Develop account plans that map decision makers, site portfolios, project pipelines, operational needs, competitive positions, and opportunities for growth across the United States.
  • Sell the full AGIL Service offering: Day 1 start-up and commissioning and Day 2 planned maintenance, repair, and replacement. Build a deliberate transition from project work to recurring service relationships.
  • Develop relationships with manufacturers, sales teams, and partner operating companies to identify opportunities and coordinate client pursuits.

Solution development and commercial management

  • Lead discovery meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations; translate client priorities into service scopes, deliverables, and measurable value.
  • Coordinate with estimating, project management, field operations, and technical leaders to validate pricing, labor assumptions, service coverage, response expectations, and execution capacity before making commitments.
  • Lead RFP responses and proposals; negotiate service agreements, national or multisite contracts, and renewals within established approval authority.
  • Define scope boundaries, exclusions, client responsibilities, and commercial terms. Secure required internal reviews and approvals before contract execution.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity stages, sales forecasts, account plans, and next steps; deliver assigned bookings, revenue, and gross profit goals.

Client relationship and service stewardship

  • Serve as the primary commercial relationship owner for assigned accounts, maintaining regular contact with executives, procurement teams, facilities leaders, and site stakeholders.
  • Conduct account reviews covering service performance, client feedback, upcoming projects, maintenance renewals, equipment condition, and repair or replacement priorities.
  • Coordinate client escalations with the appropriate operational and technical leaders; communicate progress and follow through until agreed actions are closed.

Service delivery coordination

  • Lead a complete sales-to-operations handoff that documents scope, pricing assumptions, schedule, purchase orders, client contacts, site requirements, and contractual commitments.
  • Stay engaged throughout delivery to monitor client satisfaction, address commercial issues, and identify additional needs while partnering with the teams responsible for execution.
  • Support documentation and client approval of additional work and change orders; help resolve invoice disputes and collection issues with project management and finance.
  • Coordinate account coverage across markets and partner operating companies, with clear communication, ownership, and escalation paths for multisite clients.
  • Incorporate client safety, site access, confidentiality, and cybersecurity requirements into proposals and handoffs; confirm requirements with the teams responsible for compliance.

Working relationships and accountability

The Service Account Manager owns account strategy, opportunity development, proposals, commercial relationships, renewals, and account growth. Project Managers own project delivery, including scope, schedule, project communication, change orders, commercial performance, and risk. Field Operations Managers own staffing, technician performance, safety, and field execution. OEM Program Managers provide manufacturer standards, training, and technical escalation support. The Service Account Manager coordinates with these leaders to align client expectations and delivery commitments.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in consultative B2B service sales and account management involving HVAC, mechanical systems, mission-critical facilities, or related technical services.
  • Experience developing complex accounts, engaging multiple decision makers, negotiating service agreements, and growing profitable client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of data center cooling systems and the differences between start-up, commissioning support, planned maintenance, repair, and replacement services.
  • Ability to understand technical and commercial requirements, build credible proposals, and collaborate with technical experts to develop practical solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organization, and financial skills, including understanding of pricing, gross margin, and contract risk.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office; ability to maintain reliable forecasts and manage a national pipeline independently.
  • Data center client relationships, national or multisite account experience, and experience collaborating with OEMs or multiple service organizations are preferred.
  • A degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience is valued.

Measures of success

Performance is evaluated against agreed targets for profitable bookings and revenue; new client acquisition; account expansion; recurring maintenance agreement growth and renewal; client satisfaction and retention; and pipeline quality and forecast accuracy.

Travel and work environment

Regular national travel is required for client meetings, site visits, account reviews, and coordination with service teams. Work includes office settings, active construction sites, and operating data centers, with adherence to applicable safety, security, and site access requirements. Schedule flexibility is needed to support clients and teams across time zones.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
