job purpose: The Data Engineer will play a key role in delivering fairlife's ambition of building a best-in-class Decision Intelligence (DI) ecosystem. This role will support the digital transformation of our enterprise and manufacturing operations, translating technical requirements into targeted solutions that fit into fairlife’s broader data framework, roadmap and architecture. This role will also support AI engineering initiatives that drive operational excellence and automated decision-making across the organization.
responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operationalize pipelines to support the data lifecycle of our factory IoT and enterprise use cases
- Support the development and delivery of function-specific data models in Microsoft Fabric that enable a self-service analytics culture across the enterprise
- Support development and maintenance of resources supporting our factory IoT streaming pipeline, mainly in our Ignition and Azure environments
- Partner with manufacturing & enterprise stakeholders to ensure data validity & adoption
- Champion data engineering best practices within the Fabric analytics layer, including Spark optimization, compute trade-offs, and efficient API and file integrations
- Work closely with 3rd party data architects and internal data team to develop a deep understanding of our existing data ecosystem
- Provide training and support the technical development of fellow team members
skills/qualifications required:
- Bachelor's degree in data/computer science, an engineering discipline, or related
- Internship or work experience on an enterprise data team
- Proficiency in SQL
- Proficiency in Kusto query language (KQL)
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language (Python, Java, C#, etc.)
- Experience with Git or other source control
- Experience with telemetry or time-series data sources
- Experience with any cloud framework (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Familiar with data streaming/integration tools (message brokers, REST APIs, GraphQL, etc.)
- Detailed oriented self-starter, with a growth mindset and a passion for data
- Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment

Base pay range:
$85,000 - $105,000 USD
